Deep Space Nine is 0% coy about the purpose of the holodeck. Next Generation is like “in the holodeck, you may well find adventure...or even love ” and deep space nine is like “welcome to Quark’s Klingon Fisting Fiesta, squeegee not provided, no refunds”
Watching Deep Space 9. Worf is thinking about resigning! He said the Enterprise was lost. What? When? How? Who is responsible? Why wasn't I notified? This is a disaster!

I had hoped my supplies would last through isolation but with it now being twice as long I have calculated that my reserves may not hold out before the Enterprise can return & replenish. Otherwise spirits are high and things to do are plentiful to pass the time. *
In this time, remember the wisdom of Kahless the Unforgettable.

I was done with Discovery before season 1 finished. Picard was/is better, but my issue with this most recent installment of Trek is the same one I have with Discovery and much of television these days. The season-long story arc sux compared with a stand-alone episode format. Because while it's decent enough IF the plot isn't dragged out and IF the character development is greater than my time investment in watching said characters and IF the dialogue is fresh, snappy and entertaining...then alright (notice I didn't say "great"). But if those things are absent in a season-long arc there's no way to redeem it. And I won't waste my time.
If I want to watch great Star Trek I can watch TOS and TNG anytime I want, since I bought all them on DVD 15-20 years ago.
Also, The Orville.
IMHO, Picard was really just OK with some occasional sparks of brilliance. I liked seeing these beloved TNG characters come to life again after the final two NextGen movies were so meh, but it was not so good that I feel even a wingey-tinge of guilt for downloading the whole season offa
Fuck CBS for trashing this franchise, if they want my money for a subscription they can blow me first.

Garrick. The actor has said he specifically played him as bi and thus anytime it seems like he’s flirting with Bashir, it’s because he was in fact flirting with Bashir.
