Re: So those "Occupy Wall Street" guys aren't just at, well, Wall Street anymore
I actually saw 4 people standing in front of the old courthouse building here in town with OWS signs, which was quite surprising. I really wish I'd had time to join them that day...

The Occupy Oakland camp was forced out of their encampment at 4am the other night by a police force possibly larger than the actual camp, firing tear gas into the crowd and shooting people with rubber bullets. The police claim no one was injured but youtube has other things to say about that. The police and mayor have lost major cred and it looks like the Occupy oakland movement still continues.
Sadly Aljazeera has some of the most balanced coverage.

My alt-weekly ran an article on our local demonstrations: Rising Up - Steve Watkins. Great coverage of both Dallas and Fort Worth.
I have been down to the park a few times to talk with folks, and have detoured to drive by and honk every chance I get.
In FW, the protest is in Burnett Park, near a fifty foot sculpture that is locally known as "The Man" I have wanted to try to get a picture of him and the protesters, but I haven't been able to.

An Iraq war veteran has a fractured skull and brain swelling after allegedly being hit by a police projectile.
Scott Olsen is in a "critical condition" in Highland hospital in Oakland, a hospital spokesman confirmed.
...
Video footage published to YouTube shows Olsen lying prone in front of a line of police. Around 10 people gather around him in an apparent attempt to provide aid, before a police officer throws an explosive device into their midst, scattering the group.

Obviously it's just a bunch of violent jobless losers... with members who happen to have served twice in Iraq and are a Veteran for Peace.
An added touch, the Occupy group has renamed the plaza they are in to the Oscar Grant Plaza (after the oakland man shot by bart police while being handcuffed).

New South Wales and Victorian police broke up Occupy Sydney and Occupy Melbourne last week. Coincidentally just before Queen Elizabeth II (or Betty Windsor as I like to call her) arrived in the country to do jazz hands at us.
Rather politely, imo, Occupy Melbourne agreed to wait until Betty had left before resuming their protest. This despite a 4am eviction.

This is not a ptb manufactured protest.

Also now that I am unemployed I plan to Occupy Albany like 24/7. I got shit else to do anyway until my job applications and resumes generate responses (PLEASE LET THIS HAPPEN I HATE THIS OMG FUCK) so yeah. I'ma camp out at the capitol or something.
