Default Share your brilliance with us...

As you may have noticed, the Freethought Forum has a moderated article repository. Our intention for that section of the forum is to publish particularly well-written essays and articles on various subjects. We don't currently have any formal submission guidelines, but take a look at livius' Michelangelo's Slaves article to get an idea of what kind of thing we're looking to put in there.

To submit an article for our consideration, all you have to do is submit the article in that area just as if you were submitting a post. It will appear to have been added to the repository, but in fact it will be invisible to all but yourself and the admins until we are able to approve it. If we choose not to approve it for any reason, we will let you know as soon as possible.

Thanks!

And here I thought that you wanted a website free of boundaries and restrictions on thought and speech. How can that be consistent with a moderated area?

What are your standards for submissions? Who is your editorial committee? What are their qualifications for doing so?

I disagree with your characterization of what we want, but that's more of an issue for the free speech thread, I think.

A subject that we find interesting or of interest to others.

Me.

My measly English major and vast experience of spellcheckers.

Jesus Christ, Godot. How come I've woken each day to walk straight into some whiny-yet-militant post by you. Yesterday, it didn't even matter that it was a bloody welcome thread! Tell me, are you feeling a twinge of jealousy over this place or something? Other than that, you're posts read like UMoC's when he sniffs the mention of women in a thread about money.

Thanks for the rays of warm sunshine, man. :glare:

Oh, hey! Here's an idea! What's that old saying...if you don't like it...etc?

Fine.

I withdraw my criticism.

Godot:

You're the best Devil's Advocate around.

Press on.

Besides, she wrote that before she beat me at bowling.

You gotta understand the female mood, dude.

PS ~ you play curveball yet?

Godot and luna: I agree with most of your sentiments here, but object to their delivery. Godot, you have indeed brought up some quite insightful points -- but you're being too pointy about it for me. The phrases that you have used to introduce your posts ain't from the Godot that I know, love, and am Waiting For.
luna, same thing. 'cept only that one post, not a number of 'em here. (And that's also one of my least-favorite expressions. It's counter to everything I think and believe about constructive human interaction, y'know?)
Ronin, yep. Press on, Godot, just don't press to death.

Yeah, I know. It's not my fave expression, either; but sometimes you just gotta wonder about peoples motives for being somewhere, y'know?

I'll agree with that.
