Re: Scientific Proof of God
Bottom line: The sun’s diameter is about 400 times larger than that of the moon – and the sun is also about 400 times farther from Earth. So the sun and moon appear nearly the same size as seen from Earth. What are the odds?

Oh that is nothing. My arsehole, when observed from about a nose-length away, is also about the same size as the sun. What are the odds?

Re: Scientific Proof of God
There's nothing special about the Earth/Moon system in that sense. Four other planets in our Solar System (Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune) have moons that are the right size and distance from their planet to create total solar eclipses, as visible from the planet. Of course, it's kind of hard to stand on the "surface" of any of those planets ...
The day of the eclipse, I saw several people wearing t-shirts proclaiming that the eclipse was [somehow] proof of God's love. Huh?
Hurricanes, tornados, landslides, volcanic eruptions, ebola, parasites that eat you alive from the inside, harlequin ichthyosis, none of this makes an impact on your thinking -- but the fact that 5 of the 8 planets in the Solar System have moons that occasionally get between them and the Sun at the right distance to cause an eclipse, that is somehow supposed to be evidence of a kind and loving God?

Did you happen to ask any of those people to explain what it meant? I'm willing to bet that you would get as many different answers as there were people wearing those T-shirts. It would certainly be good for some LOL's.

I'm amused when people decide "good enough" is God's perfection.
"Yeah fuck it, close enough!" said god.

Once a man was playing golf with his pastor and when he missed a short easy putt, he let out with a string of profanity that would embarrass a sailor. The pastor immediately said "If you don't stop talking like that God is going to strike you dead." The man apologized and said he wouldn't do it again. A little later the man missed another short easy putt and exclaimed "Damn I missed". the pastor said "I warned you" and immediately a bolt of lightning came out of the sky and struck the pastor dead, and was immediately followed by a loud booming voice, "Damn, I missed again."

Typical unbeliever scoffing at beliefs that must be right, because they make me feel better! Also what are the odds, hey? The almost exact close enough same size, by accident? Scoff!
