What is the weather like in your neck of the woods?

I have heard that wet or humid weather can effect candy making. It won't set up right then or something.

It's dry and cold. Nope, I just didn't cook it long enough because I was ascared.

Third batch hardened nicely and tastes great, but the color is so dark. I know I didn't overcook it. I wonder if the lemon juice discolors more easily than extract? I added corn syrup this time...did 4 parts sugar, 1 part corn syrup, 1 part lemon juice (someone's great grandma's recipe). Its like a slightly teeth stickinger version of a Jolly Rancher. I rolled them in granulated sugar. Made drops and a few sticks because playing with it was fun.

I didn't get to it yesterday so it won't be until next Monday at the soonest. My days just seem to get away with me.

I made sorghum candy instead. I happen to  soppin' syrup a lot, and had some on hand.

Syrup=water, boil, pull. That's it. They are like caramels kinda.
