Re: Ingress
INGRESS DRAMA. And also is reddit a complete shit hole or what?
We caught a bunch of local resistance cheating (from 4 states and BC Canada, so you know our little area). Reddit moderator quickly shut it down and stopped comments.
Read the drama here if you like: Hottest dead drop intel right off the presses: Seattle Resistance, South Puget Sound : Ingress

We did a thing.
Is 586 links on a portal OK? Seems OK to me.

Using my last key:
Recharging it while a smurf tries to attack it ... 588 links adds a lot of damage mitigation:

Re: Ingress
I've not played for a while now, but I just hacked a portal and got a circle K power cube, whatever that is.

It's the same as a Lawson cube, but Circle K is American.

I think it is higher in fiber as well. Or maybe that was Special K...

Re: Ingress
bey has gotten into the big MU game of late. He helped me get the rest of the way to my Platinum Illuminator, and he got his Onyx.
Last night we went out and did an op with another Enl player. I threw 7 layers over south San Jose, for a total of 448,439 MU, or about 64k per layer.

The long arms are about 6-7 km long, I believe.
If we keep grinding like this, I could have Onyx me own self pretty soon.

Re: Ingress
I got called out for cheating by a smurf. I went into the parking lot of a closed park and splashed down his shitty, pineappled blocker. He didn’t even recharge it, I don’t think he had a key.
He accused me of trespassing twice.
I think the other blockers I killed were like an exercise course that ran parallel to a public road, that I drove down bursting. I spent literally 200 bursters to take one of the portals because I couldnt stand on it and ultra strike or even get in range of a Jarvis.
For the the 1pm cp, I threw 5 layers for like 335kmu. The history park where I wanted to throw my layers from was closed (I’m not sure if it was the rain or what). I ended up throwing to the portals I could reach from their parking lot

Re: Ingress
The Smurf who accused me took down the inner layers and left one up. This has stopped me for the next checkpoint.
I did assist another Frog’s opp though, so now I’m babysitting a portal.

Re: Ingress
Here is the pic. The single layer is what killbowls left up.
The layers on the right are currently going up
There is a finished on the right.
The biggest layers were like 70kmu

Re: Ingress
We have a couple Ingress activities coming up. This weekend is the return of The Muppet Bus. I have no idea what’s going on or where we’re going. I’m just going to show up and let others be responsible for my good time.
Then over Memorial weekend we’re going to Epiphany Night in Camp Navarro. I’m pretty sure we’re signed up with qingdai’s team for that one.
Let's do this!

Re: Ingress
Most recently, I've been grinding toward my platinum mind-controller (create fields) badge. When they did the EXO5 event (how ever many months ago that was), I calculated that if I got the 2000 fields badge, I would be "pretty close" to platinum. I did not, however, I got the 500 fields badge, and then took a big old break from fielding after the event was over, as I'm sure many of us did.
Since then, I have continued to creep toward the 10,000 career fields mark, and the closer I get the more motivated I am. I went out Saturday night and built about 100 fields in 4 hours, and got to within 400 fields. Yesterday and today I've been fielding at work and now I'm within 300 fields.
That and platinum pioneer (unique captures) may be the only 2 remaining badges that I will get (The other platinum and onyx goals seem insurmountable, based on how far I've gotten in the 3-4 years I've been playing). I am within 300 captures of that badge's target, but that's not something I can work on at home or work. I'm going on vacation in a week to unique places for me, so I suppose it will just depend on how motivated I am to play.

Re: Ingress
Today, I had some time to kill in Swaffham.
Notice how I dropped the mods in positions 1 and 3. I don't know why Ingress lets you do this. You're only allowed to deploy one or two mods, but you can put them in any position. Even if you take no notice of the type of mod deployed there are ten different ways of doing it. By also selecting the type(s) of mod deployed this could be built up into an elaborate secret code.

Re: Ingress
Being able to drop mods in selected slots is convenient when you're playing with another player. So you don't get an error message. I usually do the two on the left, chunksmedicrites does the two on the right (driver and passenger modding)
