Yeah, I heard they'd managed to squeeze a vine in over Stormy's back fence.

I've been really enjoying these videos of a "clueless white guy" (and friends) going around surprising residents of NY's Chinatown with his command of their language.

Re: Isolation diaries
Got up, tested out the new release of Xubuntu 20.04 on my Dell 2-in-1. Touchscreen support sucked; decided to keep my installation of Zorin OS.
Just an hour of work, today, reviewing a proposed letter-of-intent for a third party's investment in a client's project. Finished season 1 of "Magicians," and watched a second episode of "Lucifer." Took a nap.
Late this afternoon, son suggested a low-carb "pina colada": 1/2 can pineapple-flavored Truly Spiked & Sparkling Seltzer, 1/2 can of TJ's coconut cream, a little stevia, blended. Tasted OK, but 1/2 can of coconut cream is 650 calories--60 grams of fat, 59 of them saturated. Will probably reduce the amount of coconut cream, next time.

Re: Isolation diaries
The refrigerator is packed and we still have leftovers, so I didn't cook A DANGED THING today. All I did was watch a few more episodes of Barry, and had a cocktail hour/play date with our backyard neighbor, where we sit outside and just talk over the fence for a while. I really like her a lot.
And Mabel and I are trying to figure out some socially distanced way to see each other and do something, somehow. Like some kind of tailgate in a parking lot or something. I miss her a lot, and she had just recovered from her knee surgery, so she'd already been stuck at home for weeks before this started feeling serious. She's way more social than I am to begin with, and it's really starting to get to me, so I can only imagine what it's like for her.

Re: Isolation diaries
Us more extroverted people are hard up, yet also want everyone to be safe.
ALSO I TOTALLY KNEW ABOUT LISAPEA'S SECRET ROOMS.
Seriously. No one pay attention to how houses are built?
I'm terribly glad my cousin (an award winning playwright) has a job, but also a bit peeved its for Amazon. His plays are super awesome. But I don't like Jeff Bezos.

Did you look in it? It's crazy and super-cluttered especially since Matlock started storing stuff like the swamp cooler in there, but there is SO MUCH COOL STUFF.
Sometimes, I just go 'shopping' down there, and I'm not sorry.

Re: Isolation diaries
I have not been outside my apartment for a couple of weeks now, but The Mor-Man is working hard. 6 days last week including Sunday. So I'm not really isolated and safe, he could track this thing in anyday now.
Tonight he starts his first shift on nights... 10pm to 6am. He was up super early trying to exhaust himself so he can sleep before he leaves for work. He's at Costco right now, then has a few more places to hit. Then he wants to vacuum, dust and clean the apartment, which is perfectly clean because I've been home doing it.
I think I need a tranq gun.

New game: we challenge Pea to find something unexpected in her Room of Requirement.
First challenge: some kind of sword or other weapon (whose rediscovery will proclaim you Queen of America).
I suppose we ought to have some kind of parameters. Is the room mostly domestic produce? In which case my challenge will be a jar of quince marmalade. Or is it general household storage, without the kind of antiques which might promise something like a sword? In which case I also challenge a Rubik's cube that ES doesn't have.

Does it have to be in that room? Because there's a dumb decorative sword thing behind the door of the room I'm in right now.

It's a bedroom we use mostly for things we rarely use, plus several piles of things that other people have left here. There's no food in there (there better not be!). Mostly junk plus sewing and crocheting/knitting stuff.
When you say "a Rubik's cube that ES doesn't have," do you mean to say a Rubik's cube DESIGN, or a specific instance of a Rubik's cube? Because the latter's gonna be easy.

Re: Isolation diaries
I challenge some obsolete format audio equipment and/or media for playing on such. So an 8-track player or phonograph would qualify, also (just) a compact cassette system.
And along the same lines, digital recording or playback: eight-inch or five-and-a-quarter-inch floppy disks, other more modern floppies (not as exciting), punched paper tape or cards for the win!
All claims to be supported by barely recognizable, grainy, out-of-focus photos, or they don't count.

You could just pretend. We would never know. So that's allowable.

Evidence is extremely important and such photos would be ideal.
However in the interest of time, and this being pea, I would also accept a lengthy, somewhat indignant description including AT LEAST SOME capital letters.

Re: Isolation diaries
If I were a LIAR as you are implying, I could have taken a picture of the REEL TO REEL TAPE PLAYER, but that's in the garage and not The Room.
And just for that, I'm posting FULL SIZED pictures and I made the first one upside down and with the requisite blur on purpose:
My junk room's infinite, like this Longines Symphonette:
IMG_20200406_125242.jpg
And this cassette:
IMG_20200406_130030.jpg
(I have a shoebox cassette player in this room but didn't see one down there.)
Tangential, but here is a pristine user guide for a 1984 Dell Jukebox MP3 player, which I have never owned:
IMG_20200406_125826.jpg
And for the digital media, SimAnt on a floppy:
IMG_20200406_125624.jpg
I could not find a Rubik's cube, though, which surprised me.

Worked. Son made beef stew for dinner. Tried a half-shot of moonshine.
Will be happy to be able to take the dog to Dog Park again.
