A helicopter belonging to the Pakistan Army Aviation has crashed early today near Pakistan Military Academy (PMA) Kakul Road in Abbotabad. Heavy gunfire was reported by the locals just before the helicopter went down Sikandarabad area of the town.
On the one hand, some are saying that the US gave the Pakistanis virtually no notice at all, to reduce the tip-off chances, on the other hand, this might prove that idea wrong with interesting implications as to a surprising amount of trust with the Pakistani goverment.

On second thought, I think this kind of announcement and its timing was inevitable.

I think the hype was due to this being the first successful mission in the war on terror. Srsly it's been one bucket of shit after another and taking out Public Enemy Number 1 is deserving of a pat on the back. The spontaneous crowds in Times Square and at Ground Zero and the White House are disturbing though.

This isn't the end. Ayman al-Zawahiri, who has been described as the current operational head of Al Qaeda, is still around. Then there was that thwarted Yemeni mission to take down some airliners, which by the way, was apparently not connected to Al Qaeda in Afghanistan.
There are still people out there ready and willing to kill us.
That said, I'm glad that Bin Laden is no longer able to act against us. Although, there is that rumor of a nuclear device hidden somewhere in Europe and instructions that it be detonated in the event of Bin Laden's capture or death.
I really hope that one's just BS.
