Re: renaissance festival
I still want to see if we can make it, because the Li'l Puppet has never been to one. Still not sure, yet. My company has the best discounts for it around, but I'm not buying any tickets until I'm sure I want to make the drive, do the death march through the grounds, and spend all of that damned money when we get there.

Re: renaissance festival
I've been to the one in California numerous times over the years, but never the Texas one. The California one was always in the same horribly dusty location, and after breathing that shit all day, on the way home you'd blow your nose and the tissue would be friggin' black. "Fairesnot," they called it.
Still, it was generally enough fun to be nearly worth it. Warning: the ticket price is the least of it. There is a ton of stuff to do and buy, and none of it is cheap. If you bring kids, you WILL buy useless overpriced crap for them. But a lot of the food is fantastic and almost worth the money. Oh, and bring good walking shoes. I made the mistake of wearing boots one year, and by the end of the day was seriously considering amputation as a method of pain management.

Re: renaissance festival
Oh crap. That sounds bad about the boots. I think I will wear my nikes or flip flops if its not too cold. My nephew is going but he has been several times in the last several years. Sounds like fun though. Maybe we will see you there.

Pfft. Of course not. On my pair, the black is on the right, as God intended.

Re: renaissance festival
I have friends that go to TRF every year, though I have never been myself. They make a big trek down there, camp out, and stay for days at a time. They are also cool and amazing people who I love spending time with and always find crazy entertaining stuff to do around town.
So you will be in good company. If you have the funds, go and have a blast.
