Default Consumer Reports -- Best mass market coffee not Starbucks.

From The Seattle Times

A bitter shot for Starbucks: McDonald's wins taste test

Quote:
NEW YORK — There's nothing average about the Joe at McDonald's.

The Golden Arches beat out java giants Starbucks and Dunkin' Donuts, along with Burger King, in a coffee taste test run by Consumer Reports magazine.

The magazine proclaimed McDonald's Premium Roast Coffee had "no flaws" and was easiest on the wallet.

"Try McDonald's, which was cheapest and best," Consumer Reports says in its March issue. "Or make your own coffee." :yup:

Of the four, McDonald's cost the least, $1.35, on average.

...

7-11 coffee isn't terrible. It's not good, but I don't know any national chain of any sort that has good coffee, so the bar is set at "ass is not the topnote."

Anyways, they have a few different blends, but that doesn't matter. What matters is that you go to a big 7-11 that has multiple pots of coffee, and get whatever is freshest.

Oh, also, apparently, McDonald's uses different blends by region, so the ratings for that are almost pointless. (They're right about Starbucks, though. The surprising part to me is that anybody's surprised.)

What Consumer reports didn't mention was they were driving at 70mph while drinking the coffee. :)

I actually have to agree with that, McDs coffee being better then star bucks. It just tases better,....keeping in mind I drink unflavoured unsweetend coffee, with creem only

but I do prefer husky mart coffee above McD's... do you guys even have husky marts in the US?. thier kind of like a 7-11. their 3 sisters coffee is great.

Ah, Husky. I miss that comforting old corporate giant.

In Ontario there's only a handful of them.

It's really not surprising to me. I used to love Starbucks' Cafe Mochas, and then I discovered how to make my own and lowered the calories in it too. It's so much cheaper to make it at home and if I can get it to taste pretty much the same why buy it.

I've never seen a Husky in the US, unless you count the dog.
