I was actually a long-time participant on BeliefNet, but they redid the site last year and it drove me nuts. I was away for a while. I tried it again recently and the forum software sucks worse than ever. So, here I am I guess.

I realize this isn't quite the same kind of forum, but from the looks of it, there are probably some good conversations around here.

I wanted a pretty-much-anonymous screen name. I was Paul_H on BeliefNet for some time, but when I started going to other forums I found that sometimes that name was taken. So I was looking for something that was fairly generic that I could use everywhere. Doohickie is rarely taken on forums when I sign it up. The comes from a three-year-old from my wife's Sunday school class attempting to say my last name; he called her Mrs. Doohickie. (Yes, I'm Christian.)
