Srsly, I feel ya. I often dream that I am in some kind of fight with someone and they are not taking it nearly as seriously I as I am. I always end up getting violent, like literally smashing their head against the wall or floor, and they just keep laughing about how ridiculous I'm being. It's fucking infuriating.

That's not a dream, that's the internet.

I had an odd dream the other night. I dreamed I was on a space shuttle mission. NASA decided that some jobs on the mission did not require one to be a pilot or scientists. I was the operator of the robotic arm and a CO2 cartridge-powered camera drone that was used to inspect the shuttle heat shield tiles. One of the other astronauts was in the sleeping quarters and was awakened by the sound of something hitting the hull of the spacecraft. We told him we heard it too, then we all heard it again, and then it started sounding like hail on a tin roof. Someone reported it to Mission Control. A few minutes later, they said to shut the bay doors and reposition the ship to protect the heat shield tiles. The pilots made their way to their cockpit seats, and used the maneuvering jets to turn the ship around. I retracted the robotic arm and closed the bay doors while they were doing that. Just as I finished my tasks, I looked out a side port window, so see a stream of rocks like a flow moving maybe 30-40 kph toward the ship, just pelting the hell out of it, but not hard enough to penetrate the skin. Then there were some larger rocks hitting. We all cringed. The pilots then fired the retrorockets to move the ship to a higher orbit, up out of the stream of rocks. It seemed to take forever. Then I saw a really large rock tumbling toward us, larger than the shuttle itself. Collision seemed imminent. I awoke with my heart pounding. It was so vivid.

Finally had one I remembered. It started outside of a small old wooden house up near the crest of a hill, about 200 yards from the hilltop. The house seemed empty. It was cold and snow was on the laid over field grass of the unkempt yard, which was turning to meadow. There were two other guys with me, I don't know who they were. We left the yard and ducked under an old three stranded wire fence into a pasture bordered by woods and walked up to the hilltop, which was also meadow. It was night at that point. Then we headed back downhill across an expanse of open field toward this big quarry. The hillside was quarried into in a large box shape, and the quarry walls descended downhill in the distance until they finally tapered into the valley. Then, we were inside the quarry on a narrow path built into the quarry wall. We were on a path that was nothing more than a long ledge about a foot and a half wide. It was oddly geometrical, with the path well leveled and the corners squared off, almost the way things are square at the corners of buildings. The quarry walls extended up for a hundred feet and down for maybe 70 feet and were dead sheer. The path was hard clay with small pebbles embedded throughout it. We were moving along it by shuffling sideways with our backs to the wall. We went around a right hand corner and then to our right and about 10 feet later had to make a sharp left corner and about three feet later another sharp right. The corner of the path there was worn away and rounded with a large radius so there was no flat place to walk on. If I remember right, no one spoke, all communication was by way of expressions and gestures. I indicated to the guys we had to turn back, it was impossible to get around the corner. The guy right beside me was like, no, it's too hard, we can't go back! It seemed like we had already traveled a long way along the path. I indicated yeah, but look there! It's impossible! We can't go forward. We can't just stay here. He looked really annoyed and started back the way we came. He had only taken a few shuffles and he slipped off the ledge! Just as it happened he gave me this accusing, angry, sort of eye rolling I-told-you-so look. I watched him plummet down for 3 or 4 seconds. It really was shocking, he was falling so far. There was this weird thing where his body was rigidly erect and oriented vertically feet first as he fell, as if he was standing at attention or something. He seemed to accelerate unnaturally fast. Then I woke up feeling really guilty about saying we had to turn around.

This morning in weird dream theater: Hundreds of children wash ashore on a desolate island and are accosted by gestapo guards somewhere on the continuum between SS, Far Side Fat Kid, and Super Punchable Face Guy. The children quickly realize that half of them are duplicates(news to the clones, too) who now must run to survive. The dream ends with one clone kid struggling out of his distinctive jacket while on the run, trying to hide himself. This is all rendered in anime style.

Joe Biden and I were in line for something and he asked me to dance. We did this wonderful twirly dance and at the end he told me he loved me. I was shocked because we'd only just met, but then I told him I was in love with him too and had been for years. When I woke up I had to gulp back the tears.

Today in weird dream theater: I had been granted the ability of firebreath, which was pretty awesome, but after the first terrifying sneeze had lost the ability to sneeze which made it useless. After the end of a long training montage a sneeze does nothing and, looking at the packaging, the firebreath ability turns out to be limited to 2 days. Oh well.

The only part I remember clearly is that I was riding a really tall unicycle on my way to do some tedious errand and getting really annoyed that people were looking at me too much.

I had an exceptionally weird dream last night. I lived in and owned a really big house. I slept on an upper floor. Many members of my family were hanging out and/or staying with me. My soon to be ex-brother-in-law was most prominent, along with his kids, but there were others there as well.

I had a night terror where I saw Godzilla coming down the street. I freaked out and grabbed some of my bedding and some other things, maybe clothes, and went tearing down to the basement where I could be safe from him. I ran into the family as I was headed down and they tried to calm me down and convince me that it wasn't real. The weirdest part was, I did come out of the night terror and knew what it was, but I was still insisting that I had to go down to the basement to get away from Godzilla. I never did make it all the way there before I woke up.

I also think it might be oddly significant that I dreamed of that brother-in-law. I've dreamed about my father twice recently after a long time without. They were both male Aries. I know astrology is mostly bullshit, but I cannot deny that all male Aries annoy the crap out of me in very similar ways. So I'm wondering if dreaming about similar men that I rarely dream of has some significance.

Question Re: Weird Dream(s)

Someone recently asked me if I have been having nightmares, and it made me realize that I haven't even been dreaming (that I can remember) in a really long time, which is weird for me cuz I dream a lot.

I woke up this morning and I was like "oh man, I was dreaming so hard!" but I couldn't remember anything. Then throughout the day today, they have been coming back to me.

Dream the 1st: There was a blond woman in my house, a Megyn Kelly looking type. She was there to see someone who wasn't me, but they weren't there so it was just me and her being all awkward while we waited for whoever to arrive. She was talking about how she voted for Trump, but now she regrets it, not unlike these folks. I got super irritated, like "who invited this fucking idiot into my house and why am I stuck having to entertain her?"

For real I have a dead plant in my office. A former office mate brought it in, never watered it, and then left it behind when she moved.
Dream the 2nd: The dead plant was gone and there was a live plant in a different shaped but same color container. I was like wtf, and my current office mate said he brought it in cuz he was tired of looking at the dead one.

For real I have a boss's boss who I haven't met, which makes me miss my previous boss's boss who was really cool and actually took the effort to know his whole team.
Dream the 3rd: I finally met him, and it turned out that he had been away on travel all this time and that's the only reason I hadn't met him before.

:whygod: WHY am I dreaming about work and Trump supporters? Fuck my life

I was in this weird little old timey grocery store, when I saw my best friend. I told her that we had lost both of our cars--like we went and parked them somewhere weird to hide them or something, and then forgot where--and asked if she could drive me around to look for them. At this point, I briefly woke up and looked at my clock and thought, "Oh, I am right in the middle of a dream," so I went right back to sleep. The next scene, we're at my house, and I'm like, "OK, let's go look for the cars." Then, I thought about it, and said, "Wait. Did I drive here? In the station wagon?" And she said, "Yes. You had a big weird smiley face sticker on the back window. I followed you here."

But then I got a clear picture in my head of our empty driveway and the garage door wide open, empty of cars, and I realized that the whole losing the cars thing was all just a crazy dream. At which point, I woke up again for real, and realized that I was having some crazy dream in which I had had some crazy dream.

It was really, really stupid, so I figured I should let everyone know.

This other day I had a very vivid dream I was driving through mountainous country, on a search for a house in the area to rent or buy. Nearly sunset, I passed a small lake where hundreds of people were gathered by the shores, on blankets, in folding chairs. I thought maybe it was for a fireworks show or something. I stopped my truck, got out to walk down a trail to the lake. I heard a rumble, then felt the ground shake. I looked up at the highest snow-covered peak right when it blew its top, a volcano exploded. I got down on the ground to prepare for the blast wave. It never came, but there was a loud boom, the rumble, rumble, rumble. For a little bit small bits of hot pumice rock rained down, but the ash seemed to be blowing away from us. Then someone yelled that the forest was on fire. On the other side of the highway there was a blazing fire, but it too was blowing away from us. Then the wind switched directions and the fire started coming at the lake. I yelled for everyone to get in the water. It was freezing cold water, but better than being burned alive. I was shivering uncontrollably when I awoke from the dream. And continued to shiver for several minutes after I got up.

This morning in weird dream theater: Dad's house was infested with an 'air cheater'.

An 'air cheater' is an orange-and-white swirly patterned crab with one eye much, much bigger to the other, so huge it can float around like a balloon. It's extremely poisonous -- touch it and die. During the night it follows lights. During the day you're good as dead, as it will see you.

Dad was coaxing it around with his flashlight, but had to do so in short bursts or it would lock onto the flashlight instead of the light spot on the wall and try and come and kill him. My sister and I had the idea to bind it with lasers, which worked a little better than expected - the eye turned pure white, then the whole creature shrivelled, died, and clattered to the floor.

Last night in weird dream theater: Fawlty Towers with vampires... Cleese was a vampire and the staff kind of had to work around him and convince customers he wasn't really a vampire and stuff. For some reason canned beets would force him to be a vampire for a while so if you saw an empty can of beets you knew trouble was about to go down.

I think I can blame this one on an evening's worth of zombies on TV tropes.

I dreamed we moved into a townhouse that was all glass on one end, looking out at a yard lined with trees. There was only one bedroom in the main part, but there was a second bedroom over the garage in back of it. I went up the stairs to that second bedroom, found the door was locked. I knocked on the door. My 13 year old grandson answered the door but would only open it a crack.

"What's going on?"

"Nothing."

"I smell gasoline."

I then force the door open and find he has taken his Airsoft rifle apart and has been cleaning the parts with gasoline, a one gallon plastic jug of it next to his "work". He had also spilled some gasoline and had mopped it up with towels, or tried to. I yelled at him about how even one spark of static electricity would have immolated him and probably burned down the townhouse, and maybe the neighbors' units too. I sent him to get a shower to wash off the gasoline, I gathered up the towels, then went downstairs and got the carpet shampooer. I filled the soap reservoir on it with Dawn dish detergent and commenced to cleaning the gasoline soaked carpet. I was mad as hell and Dylan was upset that I was mad. He would have been more than upset if that gasoline had found a source of ignition. It was just a dream, I know, but I'm still mad at him.

I dreamed Dylan and I were on an Australian reality TV show. We were presented with dozens platters of meat and we were supposed to sample and guess what each was and where in Australia the animal lived. We were told the first plate, which had a huge hunk of fatty meat on it, was "wairoo", an aquatic mammal. I had this idea that it was something resembling a hippopotamus. There were more platters that contained differing kinds of the same thing, one called "ouairu" and "beeroo" and "wyroo". We were told that some aborigines today will still not teach their children to swim, out of fear that they will follow "the way of the wairoo", and swim out to sea, never to be seen again. Then there were platters of crocodile meat, both freshwater and salt water, several snake varieties, and kangaroo, wallaby, and several other species of marsupial. The final platter had a huge chunk of meat that we found out was camel. At this time they brought out a baby camel, it was about five feet tall and took an instant liking to my grandson Dylan. It sniffed him all over, licked him, and then tried to climb up on top of him.

P.S. Wairoo? The only aquatic mammal in Australia is the dugong, which is called "urangan" in Aborigine language. That's not much like "wairoo".

P.P.S. No platypus or Tasmanian tiger platters were to be had. Dammit.
