My brother and I had practiced (years ago) stealing each other's watches off our wrists, and found it remarkably easy to do so if you can distract the other person. The catch was that we already had taken out the little metal clip from the hole, and so the watch was loose. Once that step is done, someone could take it off easily without you realizing it. I just could not understand how someone could undo the lock without making the person aware of it.

Oh watches that arn't the strap/buckle kind are easy. You have to distract twice. Once to undo it the second time is to take it off. People are amazingly unaware of thier bodies.

And I never took stuff out of the wallets..I took entire wallets. Even the ones on the chains.

well that not true. I used to take my boyfriends condoms....but hey they were a mutual advantage thing.

The secret is the distraction. And it dosnt take much distraction. An animated conversation is often all thats needed.

The one I have is like a quarter of a wallet (picture the part of your wallet that you slide your license, credit card, etc. into, only without the actual wallet around it) with a money clip on the back of it. Empty, it's slightly thinner than a normal wallet, and its impossible to accumulate crap in it, so it stays thin.

*shrug* I don't know. I just know that I could pick people over pretty easily. They really were not aware of their own bodies.

I once had someone steal a ring right off my finger....Still baffled as to how that one happened.

Sciatica is what got me to switch to the front, and now I'm not going back. The only times before that when I'd put it up front was when I was concerned about it getting taken (like at Mardi Gras), or sometimes while driving long distances, it would get uncomfortable in the back.
