I'm relatively pleased with the manager's performance. They came prepared to neuter most of the ridiculous bullshit defenses the Repubs kept getting away with over and over during the house investigation. That was really off-pissing to watch. Just frustrating.

It's amazing to me how good the Repubs are at taking bullshit and making it sound legit to anyone who isn't really paying attention to the facts. They'll present an argument that sounds extremely convincing unless you dig down one level and find out why it's utter bullshit.

Example - Repub says aid has been withheld by presidents before, like by Obama for Egypt. What's left out is that the aid was withheld at the urging of congress because Egypt was having a civil melt down at the time and who knows what would've happened to the funds.

I'm aware the Repubs are still more likely than not to just proceed with the cover up, and I don't feel that's an exaggerated description of what's going. At least the Dems aren't letting the opportunity to clobber the bastards for the their duplicity and make it clear to anyone who's paying attention what's going on, which is mainly obstruction. I'm glad they finally got off their collective ass and went ahead with the impeachment.

I saw a bit of Eric Herschmann's presentation today, and godDAMN is that guy stupid. Pam Bondi, the former Fla. attorney general best known for shutting down an investigation into Trump University fraud, was even worse. Ken Starr was ghastly as well. According to him, the Nixon impeachment articles were legit because they were bipartisan.

There will be no more watching this clown show for me, lest downing a few gallons of bleach becomes a necessity instead of just an option.

It's insane, the arguments are so lacking in everything but pure duplicity. One of the dumb ones that sticks is one of the clowns was going on about how none of the Dems mentioned that burden sharing was indeed discussed with Zhelensky (sp?), as if that was even an issue. Nobody charged that burden sharing wasn't discussed. It's as if the argument was, well, he did something that's not positively baleful, doesn't that prove he shouldn't be impeached? Why doesn't anyone mention that, huh? Checkmate, radical Democrats!

Two Republicans jumped ship, but the Senate still voted (51-49) not to subpoena any witnesses or documents. Lulzily enough, a couple of Faux News talking clownheads are saying that Moscow Mitch doesn't have the votes to compel an immediate conviction/acquittal vote.

IMO as soon as traitor Mitch declared his loyalty to Trump over country and then thought us all stupid by claiming he was impartial this all became a sham and now they declared it officially a sham. It’s interesting that we’re moving closer and closer to being ruled by a king with supporting land and capital owning lords.

I definitely feel they kicked the stool out from under the republic. It's effectively null and void. I hope I'm being too dramatic, but I'm not convinced I am.
