Yesterday's dinner was pan seared salmon basted with honey, soy and ginger and then placed under the broiler. It was accompanied by fresh picked yellow cherry tomatoes tossed with chiffonade basil from the garden and steamed new potatoes smothered in butter and sprinkled with sea salt and parsley (also from the garden).

Tonight's dinner was lobster and crab ravioli with a vodka sauce and freshly grated Parmesan Reggiano. For dessert I made banana bread with chocolate chips and served it warm with softened butter.

:brooding: I can eat almost none of that stuff you mortals call food.

I had zucchini (yellow from our garden), spinach and steak strips cooked together, inexplicably my husband put bacon in it too. I guess it was to healthy for him or something.

She gots the illnesses. But she is sweet as pie and salty as bacon, which has to count for something!

My latest kind of bachelor chow has this rough recipe. Dissolve half a cow cube in 1 1/2 cups of water. Add 1 cup couscous, some meat, a whole bunch of frozen vegetables, an optional forkload of butter, and seasoning to taste, stir, microwave for 3-5 minutes, serve with ketchup. Often good for two or three meals depending on exact vegetable and meat composition.

My ideas about good may not be the socially accepted ones.

Probably no dinner for me due to a late lunch and the recent appearance of cupcakes in the kitchen.

Since we had some leftover salmon, we made a Salmon Frittata and served it with Chipotle Salsa and Sour Cream.

Since I brought home so much great produce I think we'll have BLT's with green beans, watermelon smoothies, and chocolate zucchini bread for dessert. :hungry:

Tonight was Steak on the grill. I got the grill hot enough to char the outside of the steaks, but left the inside the way Skyfairy intended steak to be... Bloody. Mmmm... Yummy.

We served the steaks with a medley of golden corn, Vidalia onion and chili peppers. Even better... The SigOth made fresh bread served warm and very crusty. I made chocolate milkshakes to go with the meal.

For dessert I served cherries and blackberries tossed with mint sugar.

Steak here also but well done because bloody steak is just... :shudder: wrong to me. I think I'll have a baked potato on the side and maybe some tomato slices.

Classic Southern Shrimp Grits. They were yummy.

We followed this up with Tamarind Popsicles for dessert.

Oooh, falafel does sound good.

Sort of.

Yeah, no. Maybe not.

I don't know what we're having tonight. It's been way too hot to cook lately, so I've been making stupid dinners.

I had some bacon I had to cook, and some potatoes going soft, so I made a potato, bacon, cheese frittata.
