Maddening.

There are other old photos she was tagged in that were re-shared through various social media sites, so we don't know the original dates or locations.

I'm bumping this old thread because I'm about to start on a similar project. Although I do have many hundreds of prints and negatives to scan as well, the most urgent project is a whole lot of slides. Like at least hundreds, maybe thousands. The method I have chosen to go with for the slides is a DSLR camera with macro lens and slide mount attachment. I'll only be able to do one slide at a time but that should still go a lot faster than any available scanner I could find. I went with the Nikon D610 DSLR, AF-S DX Micro NIKKOR 40mm f/2.8G Lens, and ES-1 Slide Copying Adapter. I'm hoping I can digitize most or all of the slides in time to give copies to the photographer, and he is currently 95 yrs. old.

This article convinced me to go this route.

I've done a little over 2,000 slides since last Friday so only ... roughly 23,000 to go.

I'll probably share them all eventually, but here's a little teaser. I've done >4k now so it was hard to pick a representative sample. So far most of the slides I've done have been personal although (as you can see) there are a few professional shots too.

The family eating dinner is who I bought the house from; the man centered in that photo is now 95 yrs old. The wife developed dementia ~50 yrs into their marriage and he cared for her for ~10 yrs. before she died. When they built the house I just bought they had already been married 30 yrs. and the kids were grown. The boy on the right died sometime before 1998, the boy and girl on the left are who arranged the sale of the house. He is a retired car dealer and I'm not sure what she does.
