I am sorry for your lots, Bort. They sell the Two Buck Chuck here (with tax added, it was the only way they'd be allowed to sell it in GA). While it's OK to drink and fine to cook with...iiiiittttt's not too worthy of the damn good thrad.

Warm sunny patio day plus sale on Vinho Verde at the liquor store equals HappyClutch. :)

lately Ive been enjoying Chilean and Argentinian wine. ive been finding it cheap for up here in Canada, $10-16 a bottle (750ml or 25.36 oz). most likely a lot cheaper stateside. $14/bottle is normal cheep for wine, they tax the shit out of alcohol up here.

been stocking up Zaphy malbec about $10/bottle. just seems to taste particularly good to me.

most the of PKNT line I like, and is also around $10/bottle

the liqueur store Ive been shopping at keeps around 6000 varieties of wine in stock, so Ive got a pretty good choice to pick through. also about 1800 varieties of beer, and about 3000 of various spirits.

I bought 2.59 buck Chuck at Trader Joe's in Bend, Oregon. It was pretty good.

Cheap wine is sold in larger bottles, Taylor Cream Sherry for 16.99 in a 3 liter bottle.

Right now I'm looking for a store to buy Amontillado Sherry to drink while reading Poe.

If there is a winery close by, most of them will give samples to taste. Some of the bigger ones in New York state, in the finger lakes area, put on a bit of a show with the tasteing. This way you can sample the wines and decide which ones you like. Most of the time the person providing the samples will know the different wines and you can ask for red, sweet or dry, or something inbetween. Sometimes the store that is selling the wine will have a 'Tasting' where you can get samples to try. Here in Pa. some of the 'Wine and Spirit Shops' will hold a 'tasting' of certain products.
