Re: Pololitics
You fools. It's obvious that it's part of an experiment. That's definitely a Schrodinger's Sign. It's actually very complex. People don't know if they can touch it until after they try. The sign itself encourages the object to be experienced tactilly. The alterrnate phase of the experiment is to test whether or not being touched impacts the object. The tricky part is that we won't be able to do any tests to measure the harm/neutrality/help being touched has on the object or the sign because as we all know, measuring for such alters the result itself.

Re: Pololitics
Well, as long as you ignore the Supreme Court, and the Muslim ban, and foreign relations, and the sabotage of the ACA by Trump's administration and the uncertainty caused by their repeal efforts, and Jeff Sessions putting a stop to police reform, and the voter suppression commission, because what's so important about that stuff...
It is true that the GOP would be looking to create as much scandal smoke despite there not being a fire. Hillary wouldn't be running a hotel or constantly visiting a club where she charges $200k for a membership, but she would likely have created true blind trusts and things of that nature that they would portray as sketchy no matter what she did.
There's little difference... at the moment, while Gorsuch hasn't decided any case, but which he will do in the time he remains on the court, fucking up our country for decades, and on the assumption that Hillary only does well enough to barely win WI/MI/PA without bringing any Senators or House members along with her. But the Democratic Senate candidates in PA, MO and WI only lost by 1.4%, 3.2% and 3.4% respectively. So if our alternate universe is one, say, without the Comey interventions, or without Russian hacking/ratfucking, or without either, we'd probably be talking about Hillary Clinton with a narrowly Democratic Senate but a Republican House (meaning it'd be like Obama 2011-2014). Without both, it's not totally implausible that Democrats win the House (not clear how big of an effect the Russian ratfucking campaign was).
I do like how he acts as if Republicans confirming Clinton's Supreme Court nominee is a possibility. They would've left it empty for four more years.

Re: Pololitics
I find it amusing that the thought bubble is in English considering the graffiti is in Jerusalem. English seems to be the linguistic version of a virus. Also, that wall? Never going to happen.

Re: Pololitics
Oh yeah, they have Arabic graffiti too, but a lot of it is aimed at an international audience.
Well, more international. Arabic is pretty international too.

Eh, it's like Latin before it. And at other times and/or in other places, Spanish, French, Mandarin, Swahili, Arabic, Greek, etc. etc.
It's really just a difference of degree.
And while people focus on English or other European colonial languages eating up smaller languages, a lot of language loss that's occurring is going to other large languages. Non-Mandarin Chinese languages are getting weaker. Swahili is becoming more dominant in Kenya/Tanzania. The Berber and South Arabian languages have been losing ground to Arabic for centuries. Vietnamese is not the only language of Vietnam, but it might end up being. So on and so forth. English is just the largest language killer, but the trend everywhere is for larger languages to absorb smaller language communities due to modernization and urbanization and greater mixing and contact between communities.

Re: Pololitics
It looks like the scene in Life of Brian where John Cleese as a Roman guard was explaining to Brian that he had spelled his graffiti wrong.
Which, the internet being the internet, is also easy to find.
