What is the cost per unit for cremation coffins? If they cost a million dollars each, a billion dollars would only be enough for 1,000 Christians.

Sad to say, I did a quick search but didn't find an exact price, but I think you can probably get maybe 200,000-500,000 coffins for a billion. Frankly, though, they'd probably just burn them without coffins and spend more on the crematoriums.
Why would Walmart be the place to do this? I mean, I'd be more suspicious of Target.

Seriously for cremation they could just use one of the large boxes you can find outside the back door of a retail store.

With that kind of volume it would make sense to start looking at wholesale solutions, like Sam's Club.
