So the customer decided they did want me up here so now I'm in snowy Lynemouth, Northumberland. The 240-mile drive took over 6 hours. Treacherous roads in some places and I saw a fair few smashed-up cars.

The weather is forecast to get worse and worse so who knows if we'll actually get any work done and when I'll get back home. :shrug:

It's supposed to take two days so I should be driving back on Thursday evening. I suppose if the weather gets really bad I'll have to stop an extra night - either here or maybe somewhere on the journey back. It won't really surprise me if the whole trip is a waste of time. There is another contractor we need who is travelling up from near Leicester. I tried to get them to postpone but they wouldn't.

Weird really as I wrote the software about two years ago and it's taken them till now to get around to commissioning the system - now it is suddenly super-urgent. :lol:
