Default Hi.

1. How'd you find the Freethought Forum?

was invited back when the FPF closed down on IIDB, but never made a go of it. Was invited again when I made an ass of myself at RnR (still not ashamed of that though.) (no linky, forum down.) Finally came here to say hi to the folk who are no longer at iidb or RnR.

2. Are you a member of any other online forums? Which?
A few yahoo groups, diaperpin.com (cloth diaper group, alt6hough he's out of dipes), a local politics board, a VRBO board, a soap makers board, some stitching boards (jeez, no these are all slow boards! I do not live at the computer!) rationalpagans.com (a board for civil discussion with views other than your own), iidb, rnr, hh... probably others I can't rememebr (which means I'm not there a lot. I generally only hit a 'hot' board daily, and then the others 1-2x a week.)

3. How do you feel about smilies (emoticons)?
Love them.

4. How do you feel about 3500+ smilies?
LOVE THEM!

5. Is flaming:
C. Irritating as fuck
(troll feeding can be fun, however... as much fun as eating a whole bag of doritos in one sitting with a 2l of soda to wash it down...)

6. Is vulgar language:
A. Hilarious
B. Beneath you
C. Irritating as fuck

I'm the type of cunt who will need to have 'vulgar' explained to me. I see 'naughty words' as a lingering form of oppression by the Norman invaders of 1066 who set up a ruling class and made their language superior and the same words in the good, old fashiond anglo/saxon 'bad' words. Throw off the opressors! Reclaim the native tounge! /derail

7. Why did the chicken cross the road?

well, the fish went to the bus stop because he had to go to school...

8. Who pays for your food?
the ones who eat it.

9. What's one thing you've always wanted to do but never have?

:3some2:

10. What is your single favorite place in the world?

my bed.

11. What's the significance of your username?

it's my confirmation name.

12. What about your avatar?

when I get it, it may be my stitching.

Ha, hi Jess. In my egotistical opinion you did well at RnR. I didn't like you much at the beginning, but you grew on me. I respect you and your stance on stuff.

Anyway, welcome to :ff:. It's muchly fun here, without the assholes that RnR seems to attract.

Can I say "assholes" here?

Thanks for the warm welcome!

Julie: we don't diaper any more... he's grown out of it... :sniff: We unpacked his yultide dipe covers this past December, and I cried.

Thanks Deadlokd. I'm pretty consisent in my own way, cause in the long run that's all that matters. I put a bunch of people on ignore over there, and man, there are whole threads of one or two posts now! :tmlol:

livius drusus: I embroider. I'm planning on teaching professionally (starting this spring, I have a class at a mini regional seminar).

this is what I'm teaching:

If someone holds my hand in creating a gallery, I'll post some stuff. I have stuff over at rationalpagans, but you need to register to see it. You don't have to be pagan to go there, and it's a tiny group we're hoping to grow.. :nudge:

(no, these smilies are no fun at all!)

Thanks for the warm welcome!

I'm drop-jawed, jess. I've never seen anything like that. Beautiful, beautiful work.

I've created a gallery for your embroidery work: Embroidery by jess. You own the gallery, so you can create subcategories if you wish (click on "My Stuff - Category Admin") or just start uploading pictures.

Default Re: Hi.

Thank you.

It's called 'stumpwork' the butterfly is made spereatly with wire in the wings to shape it, and appliqued down so it looks real. Stumpwork is one of the 'in' techniques. That's an intermediate class. I could teach it as a beginner class if I had more time (it's a one day event).

This is something that would make me happy. Stitching and teaching. Not money, just happy. That's worth it too, right? :optimist:

I'll go add some pics to my gallery. Thanks!

Stumpwork is too clumpy a name for such a lovely, delicate art. It needs a French name, stat!

Happy is totally worth it. Passing on the art to other people is as well. :yup:

Amazing work, jess. Amazing. I had no idea that sort of thing was actually possible, never mind that that was what you meant by "stitching". Do you take commissions?
