I'm not even going to bother captioning this picture. Just bear in mind that it's genuine medieval art from the 13th Century - a depiction of how onagers (wild asses) will sometimes bite off the testicles of their young.

Sorry about the warping of the picture. My old scanner won't work with the Vista machine so I used the camera on my phone.

There is a very similar picture of beavers doing that in the book my illustration came from, Beastiary, (MS Bodley 764) Since both were probably hand drawn for the books, I wouldn't be surprised if either one was the original or perhaps they both drew off of an earlier image. Medieval beastiaries pretty much just copied older works without questioning them, so why not copy the illustrations as well?

I need to see if I can scan some of the images with my brother's computer. I rather like the style and there are some other WTF images in there.
