why would we look too deeply into the deranged individual's religious life? it's not like that would have shaped him in any way. i mean he's not a christian who blew up an abortion clinic, he's just a harmless muslim who took down a bunch of service men at a military base.

It's true: after the way that Christians were banned from society because of abortion clinic attacks, this decision not to ban Muslims from the military is sheer hypocrisy.
Maybe someday you can read the title and first two paragraphs of a book on the topic, and give us your summary of the issue.

Funny, I can't find any religious info on Sgt. John M. Russell who shot 5 at camp liberty in May. I guess he wasn't Muslim so there is no reason to look deeply into his religious life.
