OK, so for kicks, I bought a fisheye lens. This is one of the first pictures I took:

Just in case anyone forgot and started to think that their dog was the cutest in the world, Zsa Zsa decided to take a nap in her toybox last night.

I saw the nicest bumper sticker the other day. Lady had one of those paws stuck to the back of her trunk. Usually you see an I heart my Species of Doge. This one was more generically wonderful: Who Rescued Who?

You must respect the doggo!
In feb parks and rec repainted this battery tunnel, the first in at least 4 years based on previous graffiti. Only a few days after "I love doggos" appeared on this blank canvas.
The amusing thing is that these block letters are at the most a few days old, yet they respected the doggo love by drawing around it.
(Not pictured on another wall is a jizzing penis, which just doesn't match the quality of the bart simpson head that was there previously. I need some dimension to my jizzing penises!)

Re: An Arf-Arf Here and a Meow-Meow There... E I E I O!
So this morning I got up stupid early and made the dogs their breakfast, then went and did some other stuff for maybe ten minutes, then went to go let them outside. And Flossy was just sitting there in front of her full bowl. This, of course, freaked me out super-hard because our dogs do not lose their appetites.
I asked her what was wrong, and said "Good girl," and she looked at her food, and I said, "Do you want to eat?" And then she did.
And then I realized that she does sort of wait to eat until I tell her she's a good girl, and I probably didn't this morning because it was so butt early and I was groggier than usual. And I didn't know it was a rule.
She has been eating and behaving normally since then, so that's my best guess. Still. I guess you'd have to know her, but she is seriously not the type of dog to pass up a meal. It was really scary.
Our dogs are good girls. I can't forget to tell them that anymore.

Re: An Arf-Arf Here and a Meow-Meow There... E I E I O!
What a good girl!
PupF often skips meals (especially on days when he goes to daycare and comes home FULL OF TREATS) but even when he is hungry he often waits for an audience to encourage him to eat. Like he will stand in front of his bowl and wait for at least one dad but preferably both dads to stop what they are doing to come and sit and watch him eat. He used to eat too fast so we got one of those bowls to slow him down, but then we got his sister, who eats really fast with no real meal discipline. Her meal is gone in like a minute, even with the special bowl. So now PupF eats like one kibble at a time while she has to watch enviously.

Re: An Arf-Arf Here and a Meow-Meow There... E I E I O!
Flossy did that too, so we started putting her kibble in a Kong so she has to roll it around and get the kibbles out a few at a time and then start over. It is extremely cute.
Zsa Zsa is a dainty eater. Especially when it's something she really likes, she takes her time, and she doesn't like anyone watching her when she eats--like she will pick up a bowl of soup and take it across the room to eat in private. Without spilling. I don't entirely understand how, even though I've watched it a bunch of times.
Flossy would look at her and maybe try to eat her food, so we feed them separately to avoid all that.

Alice is like that too. She will even come in to the living room and stare at us sometimes, until we think she must need to go out for a pee. Then when you get up to let her out she stops and eats again. She only has 1 signal for everything - the stare- so you kinda have to check if she wants out because she has been know to pee inside. It's hilarious and annoying at the same time. I am not going to stand and watch you eat!.
Bryn has more than one sign, but he rarely uses any of them because he only gets off the couch for meals and walks. He has an iron bladder and can just hold it all day, it's really remarkable and kinda awesome.

When Chewbacca isn't getting attention from others, she'll come to bother me. I don't know what she was looking at, but it made for a good profile shot.

I just woke up and got the dogs their breakfast, and then I was doing other morning things and realized that something was a little bit off. Like, the coffee was warm, and there was an extra can of wet food opened, and yeah, they already had breakfast this morning.
They were very polite about it, and ate their second breakfasts without complaint, though. I am very proud of my well mannered ladies.

Re: An Arf-Arf Here and a Meow-Meow There... E I E I O!
A couple of days ago, Zsa Zsa started walking gingerly and stopped jumping directly up on the bed and stuff. I think she just twisted her leg or something, but her joints have been making clicking sounds sometimes, too, so I internetted about that, then we got her into the vet today to start her on Adequan, which seems really promising. It's a bit expensive, but she has health insurance*, so we're doing it. She's going to have to go in twice a week for four weeks, and then get maintenance injections at home, but it sounds pretty great.
She's about 13 now, which is pretty old for a 70# dog, but this is the first serious sign of aging she's had. (With her white face, the graying isn't obvious.) So if this stuff works, she can get back to her 24/7 party lifestyle pretty soon.
* There were several years when Zsa Zsa had health insurance and I didn't. #HASHTAGLIFESTYLE
