Scientists dated the carcass from 20,000 years to 50,000 years ago. More precise dating will be possible once radiocarbon studies can be done at a laboratory.

The carcass was found on the bank of the Tirekhtyakh river, in the Abyisk district, close to the area where another young woolly rhino was recovered in 2014. Researchers dated that specimen, which they called Sasha, at 34,000 years old.

They finally finished refurbishing/retrofitting this old railroad trestle near my house. They turned it into a walking bridge and it connects the trail by my house to the trail to the dog park! Yay!

it was more expensive to preserve it than just tear it down and build a new bridge, but the historical townsfolk lobbied to make it a monument and keep it. I've been following the story almost as long as we've lived here. It took way longer than projected, but it's done and it's totes awesome!
