But but, much of Dover's catalog is public domain literature.

Re: Yay Coloring!
I bought the Dover book and CD-ROM of ukiyo-e ghosts and demons a while back. I absolutely couldn't resist.

Re: Yay Coloring!
My kids absolutely adore coloring books, but I really don't think it's practical to go out and buy them when I can just have them printed out online. Here's a site I enjoy most, it's called supercoloring, most of the images I have from there are the Disney coloring pages, just because my kids love them! Hope this helps

Holy shit, that site is the bomb dot com. Look at the sightseeing section!
I'm embedding the Temple of Amun full size because the detail deserves it:
I'm going to go to town on the columns. Oh yes. I'm going to color them so hard.

I used to sell Dover books, mostly the HO scale building cutouts, but I got into the science books later.

Isn't expert-level coloring what colorists in the comic book industry do?

Re: Yay Coloring!
Secret Garden: An Inky Treasure by Johanna Basford has some nice designs, but the paper is fairly poor quality so if you use inks they tend to soak through to the other side.
Crayons or waxes work well - or you can photograph / photocopy the designs onto some good quality paper before colouring.

Re: Yay Coloring!
Oh man, that bleeding through thing used to drive me bonkers when I was a kid. I guess they expected us to use pencils or crayons like damn refugees but I was all about the markers from a very young age and didn't appreciate the shortcuts in paper quality.

Colouring in can free your mind. Let’s learn how to play again | Philippa Perry | Comment is free | The Guardian
Quote:
Secret Garden, a book by Johanna Basford, has sold more than 1.4m copies and hit the top of Amazon’s bestseller list this month. What is it? Ninety-six pages of black-and-white drawings of flowers, leaves, trees and birds, and its USP is that it’s a colouring book for grown-ups.

The book cep mentioned above.
Quote:
Furthermore, it has been reported in the New York Times that in Australia there is even a group for adults to meet up to colour in together, like a knitting circle.
