I've pretty much achieved my goals. I now do 12 clean straight arm pull-ups, 12 with my wrists facing towards and 12 with them facing away. But I've also learned muscle-ups.
I stress learned because I'm now convinced it's really a trick, and one which every gymnast knows. You use a false-grip. The way to do a muscle-up (without exploiting momentum and doing a leg kick), is to ensure the palm of your hand is above the bar. The cool thing is that people don't notice your grip. Yesterday, I showed off to my mates by starting from straight arms and hauling myself up onto the roof of a bus shelter, but I'm certain they didn't notice my false grip. The only problem is that I'm like a cat. I can pull up onto bus shelter roofs, but I don't know how to get down. I just like going up things, but coming down scares me.
In other news, I completely busted both my ankles when drunk and on drugs. I have no idea how this happened, but I haven't been able to run properly for three months. This is fucking annoying.
Oh, and pull-ups don't make you look that muscular. I'm pretty muscular naked, but I don't have huge biceps like regular gym folk do. I think pull-ups are mostly a back exercise, and a muscular back just gives you a bulky look, but not a ripped look. I don't care, anyway. I'm totally just about having the ability to pull myself up stuff.
