When my home was being foreclosed on, some of the resources that 211 offered did charge per night for shelter. So, if we lost our home, and were homeless, we would be screwed. Basically. Nice laws.

As we all know, shooting and killing a teenager is self-defense in Florida so long as the teenager is black and might be thinking about cooking up a batch of purple drank.
However, firing a warning shot into a wall when your crazed, violent spouse is charging you threatening murder is not self-defense in Florida, so long as you're female and black.
A three-judge panel of Florida's 1st District Court of Appeal apparently doesn't know the law very well, since they've gone and ordered a new trial. The ruling was based on a breathtakingly muttonheaded blunder in the trial court's jury instructions.

I heard about that case. When I saw a story on it on Youtube, I essentially stated that the woman didn't meet the racial requirement for Stand Your Ground to be an effective defense. If she were white, she never would've been charged most likely.

It's a bit sad when I'm impressed that the paper didn't speculate on what possible new designer drug he must have been on to be out running naked.
I think it's obvious. I mean, who else but a naked (black) man has something to hide? Why else would a (black) man be naked in the street if he's not trying to distract decent honest gun carrying (white) Americans from whatever he's really hiding (just not on his person or in his clothes). It's just plain as day if you ask me.
Not only is it plain as day, it is also right there in black and white.

Comic book supervillain Rick "Voldemort" Scott has a double-digit deficit in his fight against presumptive Democratic nominee Charlie Crist. Some of this is no doubt due to Scott's well-documented history as a serial grifter and/or Lex Luthor/Gollum lookalike, and some of it is due to the fact that medical marijuana being on the ballot is likely to increase youth turnout, but a lot more of it probably has to do with the fact that Crist isn't running from Obamacare, and is doing a capable job defending the president's record.
