I'm making an offer on a house today. I'm wicked nervous, as we are lowballing the hell out of them, but it's what we can afford. All I can hope is they're desperate enough to let it go, and if not we have a backup house. :twiddle:

The weekend went pretty well, though I am now nervous because the awful woman (AW) now knows that JoeKid was here and is all awful and stuff. "What if she does something to Joekid - she attacked me in front of her own kid!" It is difficult to counter crazy with logic.

Something along the lines of: "Hey, if Joekid plans to verbally assault me in front of Caligukid after I make him a multi-thousand-dollar offer to pull his ass out of the fire, then we might have something to worry about. I seriously doubt this is the case, however, and a simple time-out should clear up any problems we might have since he has some sense about him."

But I worry, of course, because crazy is as crazy does. BUT - the kid likes me, and I like him, too, so things were nice on that front, which is the most important front. Caligukid was very glad to have his "brother" back. Joe made us grits. (Don't ask hominy, I lost count!)

I'm in the throes of this myself. Just made a third offer on a third house last week.

This one was accepted. Whew. Now it's a matter of inspection being satisfactory and lining up bids for work that needs to be done.

More abbreviations.

I grew everything in the garden in the wrong spot, so it seems. Both the spirea and salmonberry are getting too much sun, the iris not enough and the tomatoes have bottom rot.
Doesn't help that my dad randomly brings over plants, and some other household member randomly plants things without our regard to their needs.

Now I'm going to have to spend fall re-planting.

I spent several weeks taking care of the bougainvilla, and it has finally spread.

The hummingbirds arrived. They think the fountain is a birdbath but that's okay.

I got "let go" from my PA job because their money was too tight, but picked up another job writing the same day. So it's all good.

I'm having lunch on Friday with the sister of my high school boyfriend from Papua New Guinea. We had brunch last month in Laguna and now she's going to come a little further south, my way. I can't wait! I just wish she could bring him with.

Then, they come home in a pot and die in that pot. It's a lot less work. (Yes, "voice of experience".)

In other news, it's time once again to sleep out under the stars. Tomorrow night it's back to the pasture for my sister and my friend. Building a fire, roasting wieners and marshmallows, getting drunk on beer and cider ... I ask you, can life get any better? :fire2:

I have a 1999 Mustang blocking my driveway because the ignition switch isn't working. The fact that the battery terminals were so corroded it was a wonder it was working at all to begin with has nothing to do with it, but that was the reason I was about 20 minutes later than usual to arrive at work.

I'm getting my tonsils out in a week. Every time I so much as catch a cold they swell up like grapefruits to the point where swallowing is a miniature nightmare and talking triggers my gag reflex to the point of puking, as does simply sitting there on occasion. Third time this year now, they've had their chance. Out they go.
