I was in so much pain yesterday from sinuses I kept crying. It was horrible. I waterboarded myself and that helped some, but the pussy ass decongestants weren't cutting it. This morning for work I brought out the big guns...pseudoephedrine. Which I hate. It makes me feel all amped and frazzled yet really stupid. But, I was desperate. So I am stupid an antsy today, but not in pain.

You should have bamped this yesterday. I would have had complaints then. Today I am improving a bit. I've found that theraflu is much more effective than Dayquil even though they have the same active ingredients. But it does make my brain little disfunctional.

As I understand it, pseudoephedrine is just a nasal decongestant. For sinus congestion (swelling) I take ibuprofen for its anti-inflamatory properties.

Ibuprofen is a wonder drug and I had taken it already, with some wimpy decongestant, but the pain seemed to be from snot I couldn't shake loose. The salt water irrigation helped some too. Maybe I didn't need the psuedoephedrine, but I was scared of it coming back in the middle of the work day.

I am still feeling much better, so nothing so far today.

I have to take pseudoephedrine most mornings but I try not to take it more than that. Years ago, before it became restricted for purchase, I tried the 24 hour version. I took it for a few days and thought I was about to have a nervous breakdown. The regular dosage isn't that bad, but taking it a lot starts to get it to me, plus its action in drying out the nasal passages has led to them becoming irritated and even painful.

Uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuggghhhh....

I have been told recently that vicks vaporub actually makes a cold worse. You make MORE mucus, if you can believe. Yet it is the only thing that makes me feel like I can breathe just a little tiny bit.

Vicks ... bad. Cold .... bad. Mind tricks ... goood.

bey and I both feel like crap. We're wallowing in our snuggies and pounding water and Tylenol and what not.

Happy New Year! :partying:

I've had a cold over the new year - the sort with the incessant crazy repetitive dreams and brain too slow and achy to do any coding - but I'm feeling a bit better today.

On Sunday, I cleaned about a metric tonne of dog hair and dander and dust and literally sand from under our bed. Ever since, I have been dealing with this logey sinus and throat thingie that has me all like :gah: and I don't know if I destroyed myself by cleaning or if it's just the timing. Tis the season, after all.

Ya, dust masks are a thing for when we tackle those places that we really should do more often.
