This week, we discovered that the froguar shares his mother's childhood habit of holding her breath when she got upset. He has almost passed out twice, with eyes rolling to the back of his head like he was possessed. Once it was because he fell off a half step and once he pinched his hand somehow.
Mrs. ShottleBop and ShottleSon stared the move today. Two couches, a coffee table and side table, and lamps. Recliners won't fit, so we'll donate those, and re-cover our wing chairs (which had been in the "discard" circle until now). Moved 8 of our dining room chairs and cobbled together a big glass circle and a wicker base that we'd been using outside to make a temporary dining room table (our current dining room is pretty large, and we've been using an old law firm conference-room table. It seats 11 comfortably; the temporary one is not quite big enough for 8 chairs; we're thinking we'll go square when we replace it with a more permanent table.
We need a new washer and dryer (electric) for the new place. We're thinking front-loader. Anyone have any experience with Daewoo (available through Costco)?
I don't, but I had a neptune, they sucked (I had a 2004). I'd look at consumer reports.
Many Americans don't like front loaders because you have to either prop the door to dry properly or the gasket might get mold. I liked mine a lot, it seemed to get clothes cleaner and with less detergent. Be sure to use front loader safe detergent.

Not Daewoo, but we have a GE and it's pretty awesome. My stepdad used to sell them at Home Depot (just retired this year in fact) and he said the only one that has consistent problems is the Whirlpool. The newer front-loaders don't seem to have the mold problem. At least, ours doesn't, and we don't leave the door open. They also have a self-cleaning cycle that works well. I only use the basket cleaner after I've run the dog's bed through.

Consumer Reports didn't test Daewoo, so I can't help you there. For electric dryers the top picks are all either LG or Samsung. For Washers it's Whirlpool, Samsung and Maytag on top.

They make the top loaders the same way now; "high efficiency" they call it. The agitator is on its way out. Since we are moving into a new house we have been looking at washers and dryers. My dad has offered to buy them for us. Which is good because after we buy the house we are going to be broke for awhile.
Mom has the LG set, and likes it well enough. They got pedestals to raise the doors higher, and the drawers in the pedestals hold detergent (High Efficiency), and dryer sheets, clothespins, etc. The set is fairly loud, though.
