Default Wu Tang: An American Saga

This 10 episode series on Hulu is what I would describe (loosely) as Boys n the Hood meets 8 Mile. It's about the formation of the Wu Tang Clan but the first 5-6 episodes are more about the main players slinging crack, fighting rivals, etc. than about making music. The last episode 'airs' next Wednesday.

There isn't a lot of music in the series, but I like it a lot anyway. I somehow totally missed the Wu Tang Clan despite having been a rap fan most of my adult life, but now I want to learn as much about them as I can. Next on my list: Wu Tang Clan: Of Mics and Men.

If you didn't already know this, Donald Glover got his Childish Gambino rap name from an online Wu-Tang Clan rap name generator.

Also Ghostface Killah, AKA Tony Stark, almost got a cameo in Iron Man, (the scene was cut) partly because back then when he took the Tony Stark name, Iron Man was still a second-tier Marvel property.

Also if you haven't heard the album Liquid Swords by RZA and GZA, it is really good.

Thanks for the heads up about the series!
