Default Can anyone give me any tech help?

*looks mournful*

I bought a game off ebay but I can't install it. When i put it in the drive and press install I get a box asking me to choose which directory to install it in with a suggested directory already entered. So I press continue and it just doesn't do anything else ... just keeps repopping the box up. It will suck if I can't get this to work after Ipaid for it :(

Can you create the directory it's suggesting before you try and install it.

It sounds like the directory/drive doesn't exist or you don't have access rights to the drive. Are you an administrator on the machine you are trying to do this installation with?

I can give you no tech help whatsoever. But I can tell you how to make a kickin' Boston Butt, and a super southern barebque sauce.

It makes yankees' heads blow up -- oh how I love it.

Are you sure the CD isn't corrupt?

Try making a temporary folder, on your desktop say, called maybe, sothr_install

Then browse to the CD, Ctrl-A to select all, Ctrl-C to copy.

Browse to your new temporary folder and Ctrl-V to paste.

That might show up errors on the CD, if it can't copy some of the files, but assuming it does manage to copy all of them, try running the install program from the temporary folder.

When it pops up the install dialog and suggests a folder/directory for the install, what directory does it suggest?

I'd be interested to see the full path that it suggests. If you can reproduce up to that point in the process, please post what it says. It might give a clue and get us farther along in the troubleshooting Leesifer, ceptimus and Sauron have suggested.

Why isn't this thread in Computers & Technology forum? :caesar: It might be worth a move -- maybe there'd be more techy help if it were there?

I assume you're running Win XP? If so, Warhammer: Shadow of the Horned Rat has known compatibility issues (it was released for Win 95). You might not be able to install it, I'm afraid ... :sigh:
