Re: Member News Discussion
Hee hee. I'll have you know that I did already scrape off the border in Zav's room, and painted his and Aurora's room with one coat all by myself on Friday night before PV got here. So I'm still ahead! I just had to duck out for a few hours and take Fizzgig to her puppy class this afternoon, leaving him all by his lonesome to slave away...

Yeah but take into account the fact that I have to pay for the privilege of working on my "own" house (by virtue of purchasing a plane ticket) and I think I totally win.

Thanks, guys. My next trip is going to be more fun as I'm bringing my wife along to England and she can visit her family while I'm working. After that, the next overseas trips will be less fun -- at least one of them as I have to go to the middle-east which brings its own kind of asspain. At least I'll get a bit of extra money for being in harm's way though it doesn't completely compensate me or make my wife feel too much better. I'm sure she'd rather have less cash and me safe in our home. My cold seems to be waining and I've slept through the night twice now.

Well, I still owe quite a bit on my new truck, but CCs are clear. Thanks though.

What a gorgeous view, fragment. What body of incredibly azure water is that?
Congratulations on the new job, Spenser, and buh bye to the hell of gigantic CC interest payments.

Re: Member News Discussion
liv, that's Lyttelton harbour. Lyttelton is the port for Christchurch, and effectively part of the city, but it's also behind some hills (there's a tunnel) so it's got a unique feeling of its own. If anyone's familiar with the movie The Frighteners, a lot of the location shooting was done there. The ghost-filled cemetery is just down the road, for example. It was my pick of places to live when I got back to NZ, so I'm pretty happy.
minus, the summer down here has been a real washout. Yesterday was one of the few truly hot days. If I could upload some summer warmth as an attachment for you, I would.

Re: Member News Discussion
OMG I loved The Frighteners! I'm going to have to watch it again to pay closer attention to the location. I remember the cemetary and the Michael J. Fox's unfinished house.
How cool to have a hilly port with a tunnel. You definitely hit the housing jackpot, fragment.

Re: Member News Discussion
I'm not sure if the unfinished house was filmed there - they did some location shooting in Wellington as well. Some of the cuts can be a bit disorienting if you're familiar with both places!
Started moving a few things in yesterday. This week I have to do some furniture shopping. Unfortunately the internet connection might be up to three weeks away! I won't be able to fully move until that's sorted out - I need it for work.

I plan on being out of debt myself, very soon.
Taking suggestions on the wording for the note to hand the bank teller...
