Poll Lunch: Eat Out vs. Brown Bag

I used to strictly limit myself to one lunch out per work week. Now my laziness has slipped me into eating out almost everyday of the work week. :sadcheer: It is more expensive, but it does get me out of the office more during lunch time.

So what about the other working stiffs here at the :ff:, how often do you go out for your work lunch?

Poll coming...

I don't either. But I try to send a lunch with Garnet every day. Sometimes it works out. Sometimes it doesn't.

It comes in cycles. Sometimes, I'll go multiple weeks either eating out or doing the brown bag thing.

When I worked in NYC, it was much easier and preferable to eat out. Tons of good food, all within walking distance. And the people-watching opportunities were excellent.

Now, I'm in suburban sprawl, so if I want to eat out, it's a drive. And all the restaurants are chains.

Sucks.

I brown bag it almost daily to save money and for my health. But some mornings I am lazy. Maybe once a week. Twice at the most. Like today. Mmm! Commisary food!

I'm downtown, so there are quite a few places to go for lunch. But I usually get it to go and bring it back, so I can spend more time goofing off on the Internet getting stuff accomplished.

Shouldn't this thread be in Food and Drink?

Or isn't this the complaints thread?

I never brown bag it, but I skip lunch to go for a bike ride (or sometimes practice golf) about half the time.

Well, MT done beat me to it. We shoot for a brown bag most days. I don't eat out at work very often. This has saved us a ton of money. Last month, MT wasn't feeling good and I had about a week of buying lunch every day. Sheesh! I blew through over $50 just for lunches!

Sou and I work within about 3 mins of each other and about 8 mins from home. So most days we go home for lunch, but about once a week we go to the nearby pub with some friends from work.

I keep telling myself to brown bag, and actually accomplished that for a couple of weeks. Saved gas and cash, it was great.

Back to 4 or 5 times a week though. Subway is teh eb1lz.

I do it about half the time, though I need to knock it off right this very minute. I have even done it when I have brought my lunch. Stupid!
