Default Win XP crashes

Ok, I have a seriously weird problem with my system at home. It crashes with a Bad_Pool_Call stop error upon shutdown. When it does it sometimes deletes part of my Firefox bookmarks and resets all settings (including every extension I have) ...

This would not be so strange as Bad_Pool_Call indicates a bad device driver. Now it only happens on Fridays and Saturdays. I mean: WTF??

The system shuts down fine from Sunday to Thursday but crashes on Friday and Saturday. I boot up and shutdown without touching anything and it crashes. :sadcheer:

I have no idea what the hell is going on. Maybe it's haunted or one of you lot cursed it? :ghost:

These are typically due to faulty software or drivers. If you go into your
event viewer you'll see more info and you might be able to extract which
driver is causing the problems to update and reload it. After this, you might wanna check your RAM.

Try going to the Control Panel and changing the date/time. Tell the computer that it's Friday, when it really is not.

See if it happens then.

That's an interesting idea, Sauron. Why didn't that occur to me.
I'll try that tonight.

Also, thanks BracesForImpact. I'm pretty sure that the problem lies with the catalyst drivers. The last time I upgraded them the driver installation was stopped by my bloody firewall (which I was too lazy to stop beforehand ...) and the system crashed.

That's when the problems started. The thing is: I uninstalled/reinstalled them since then but the problem remains. :deepsigh:
