Steve, the linguine carbonara isn't bad.

But for the love of all that is holy, do not pick up the Smart Ones (made by WW) vegetable lasagna.

It's not the first time I've had the lasagna. It's one of my favorites. It's just this one particular one was made weird.

OMG! Ew ew ew! My uncle shot his fingertip at the gun range () and my mom emailed me the photos. She's so squeamish she won't even watch House or CSI, but she thought it was a good idea for me to look at those photos at work? So gross! Ew!

I asked mom why she would send me that, and she goes, "Because you weren't on the original distribution."

 Of course. Why didn't I think of that?

The emails have been flying all afternoon. He is the middle child of seven, and my family is long on love but short on compassion. My eldest uncle wins the thread with, "A finger? That's nothing!" He lost his left arm in a fishing accident 20 years ago.

It's almost exactly the same as that.

I doubt the Dutch know what turducken is, lisa. ;)

Tonight I learned that if you are out of milk (for your tea), heavy cream is not a substitute. It just sort of... floated there.

It's not a substitute, it's better! You should try stirring it.

Hmmm...The latest gas bill indicates that my usage rate, having dropped precipitously in March, has flatlined. My equal payment charges had built up to the point that the gas company finally notified us that we were paid up through July 2010, when the new monthly equal payments, at less than half the prior monthly payments, kick in.

The bundle I dropped on the heat pump is getting some payback. :phew:

My electricity charges are still roughly the same, so there has not been a shifting of household energy use, and household use is expected to drop with the exodus of unsons....and billing goes to regular monthly payments over the year. We are changing over some compact fluorescents to full spectrum (imported from Finland!)....starting with the one over the computer.

I'm feeling a lot better about controlling energy costs. Now, if I could just reduce the anxiety about where my water billing was going to go....
