I read this thread from the beginning and I'm like I don't remember half of that but it all sounds hilarious. We bought seasons 4 and 5 on Amazon streaming whatever and we're gonna get caught up.

A guy on reddit said he's only watched the first 2 seasons on Netflix, so should he start on season 6, and everybody was like noooo! You need to watch them in order.

B T Dubs, since the season is almost over again already () how much are we loving it?

I didn't love Serena at first but she has grown on me. That seems like kind of a nothing thing to throw out there about a season with a million things to talk about, but it's the case.

I want to see a Warriana/Molotov Cocktease throwdown. I don't love a jealous lady trope in general, but Brock is def. worth getting jealous over and besides ... Warriana/Molotov Cocktease throwdown!

Also, we love Dr. Mrs. The Monarch this season. bey pointed out early in the season that she doesn't have any superpowers or even crazy gadgets. She's just hella capable and ambitious and smart. She fucking kicks ass. I am super worried about the inevitable fallout when she finds out the Monarch is the BM (). First, she was totally betrayed, like really bad. Like he legit assaulted her in their very marriage bed*. Second, I can't imagine she wouldn't beat herself way up about it, his having been under her nose the whole time.

Okay, that's all I got so far, other than repeating hilarious shit like, "This is not growing back, I am not real gecko," and whatever the thing that Gary says about the avant-garde villains, "Oh, look at me, I'm so clever!"

In conclusion, I started peeking at r/venturebros yesterday and omg I almost fell down the rabbit hole. All kinds of crazy theories like Rusty and Malcolm** are clones, Vendatta is the Monarch's dad for some reason, and therefore was Vendatta the BM? Or was BM nobody's biological father on account of the Billie Jean King thing?

* He should have taken the hayride first. I mean, come on! She gets powerful lonely.
** "Who the fuck is Malcolm?" I wondered. It's the Monarch apparently. Who knew!

He definitely should have taken the hayride first. It's just more evidence, if any were needed, that the Monarch's relationship with Rusty will always be the most important one in his life.

A ton of the AV Club commenters think Rusty and the Monarch must be brothers. They are taking their dads' sex video as evidence. I have heard the clone theory but I don't buy it. Up until last week, I thought the season would end with them either killing Rusty or still thinking he was Blue Morpho. Now I have no idea where they will end up.

I confess I left it ambiguous on purpose when I said "Rusty and Malcolm are clones". When I first said it yesterday to bey, I meant that they were clones of their previous selves, the way Dean and Hank are. Like Jonas Sr. and BM had the same backup system for their kids like Rusty had for his. Some people were using that to explain away some discontinuity with ages and time-frames and such.

But he may have took it to mean that I meant they were clones of each other, cuz he said something like, "remember how the Dean clone fixated on Dean, maybe clones are prone to that," given how the Monarch totally fixates on Rusty. Which isn't what I meant, but I could also see that just because of the way they look similar enough to both pass for the same vigilante.

I don't completely buy any of it, but it's compelling enough to make me say "hmm".

I just couldn't with this season. I JUST COULD NOT. It was insanely awesome. Not, like, season one crazy awesome, but easily a top season with all the stuff going on.

My favorite thing is the introduction of the Blue Morpho persona. First, it's Monarch's* dad, which holy shit right? Second, OF COURSE it's the Monarch's* dad because Butterfly theme!

And O.M.G. Rusty Venture, Boy Adventurer and The Monarch* ARE FUCKING BLOOD RELATIVES SOMEHOW. If these guys had been planning something like this from the beginning, big honkin kudos for saving it for so long. It never dawned on me how alike they at least appear superficially.

Since the first confusing of Venture for the Vigilante, and then pseudo confirmed from the sex tape, I'm guessing they are half brothers. Whether it's from the father or mother I have no clue. But the intrigue on that plot line is just killing me.

And Dr. Mrs. The Monarch is, as usual, one of the best characters on the show. She's going to kill Mr The Monarch or herself once all the cats are out of the bag.

Motherfucker, Venture Bros just got canceled. I mean, it has had a great run and I guess this is not completely unforeseeable, since they produce approximately one season per sixty years, but still. Last season was EXTREMELY strong and I was looking forward to season 8.
