I could help him a lot better with a Linux server, it's what I know. But he wanted to "learn windows servers". That turned out to be bullshit: He never spent 5 minutes on learning what he was doing. He just wants a website, which I'm happy to host on a server I know how to use, if he'll swallow his pride and let me do it.

I spent almost 4 hours in Penn Station today waiting for them to clear some 70's leftover piece of shit that passes for a train these days from the Hudson tunnel. I seriously almost lost my mind.

It was the announcements that nearly did me in. For the first hour and a half there was zero news about why the train was delayed. Then once the Hudson tunnel excuse cropped up, they could not stop jawing about it. Every 5 minutes the guy would announce an "update" to my train situation, and every single "update" was the same exact announcement that shit was delayed on account of the Hudson tunnel breakdown. Then he'd close with "please listen carefully for further updates."

This morning, I had to debate with one of the receptionists at the medical facility I go to about an updated prescription for Fluoxetine that they called in Wednesday per my doctor's approval. What they didn't get right was the new dosage instructions to go with the new prescription. The problem is that my doctor is on vacation until next Wednesday and I'd run out if they couldn't be made to understand, so I had to play nice.


Me: "I need new dosage directions to be faxed to my pharmacy in order for them to release the prescription, otherwise it looks like the same 'script to my health insurance people and they won't cover it. "

Idiot: "Well, it looks like the it's the same prescription that they faxed over."

Me: "No, it's not. This is a new prescription for 45 pills a month - 1 a day for two weeks and 2 a day for the other 2 weeks."

(simple, right? )

Idiot: "Oh, so you don't need 45 pills then?"



Me: "Yes, I do need 45 pills a month and the dosage should read 1 pill a day for 2 weeks and then 2 pills a day for the other 2 weeks."


Idiot: "So, 1 1/2 pills a day then... "





Me: "No, they're capsules, which can't be broken in half. --- the dosage should read 1 pill a day for 2 weeks and then 2 a day for the remaining 2 weeks."


Idiot: "Oh, so they can't be capsules then... ?"





Me: "Yes, I need capsules. 45 per month. 1 a day for two weeks and 2 a day for the remaining two weeks."

Idiot: *pause* (I swear I smelled the rocks in her head burning)

Me: "The larger dose for two weeks is pms related"

Me: "It's definitely needed at this time - I'm pms'ing, I threw my back out, can't sleep at night because of it, and I just dished out $1000 to have my dog's abscessed tooth taken out.. so yeah, it's needed, and I'm going to run out if this isn't taken care of"

Me: (unbelieving) "So, the fax will be sent today with the new dosage instructions of 1 per day for 2 weeks, 2 for two weeks, 45 per month in total?"

At lunch, I called my pharmacy and it is actually all set.

What the mother fucking fuck, mother fucker. I've lived in this place for - well, I don't remember how long - and I've had the same TV/Cable service for all that time. I've ordered quite a few On Demand movies. Okay, aside from having to suffer with non-letterboxed films because I'm still stuck with a normal traditional shaped television, it's been a generally positive experience. The price is decent and the selection is, well, it's at least a selection. Tonight, because I was totally bored and hated everything else that was playing on normal cable I ordered a movie. For the first time ever (through this service) I had to suffer through a trailer for another movie before watching what I ordered. I stress suffer because it's really and actually true. See, even with old DVDs (lol VHS, amirite?) that have trailers or whatever it's for movies that are contemporary to the one you're trying to watch, right? NOT THIS TIME. See, I might've have been more okay (not totally, but at least grudgingly accepting) if the trailered movie were COMING SOON to your ON DEMAND experience - but it wasn't. The movie I actually for reals ordered was new in 2010 and the movie of the trailer was from 2003. MOTHER FUCKING 2003, MOTHER FUCKERS.

The fire alarm in one of the buildings in our complex has been going off for the past 30 minutes. This happens about every 4 months. There is no fire. Or, at least, I guess there is no fire because there aren't any fire trucks and we live two blocks away from the fire station.
