The old Heinlein juvenile novel of that title was about a teen who spends his summer restoring a old space suit to working condition, only to end up having to actually use it on the moon (and elsewhere!).
Well, this isn't quite the same thing. The Smithsonian wants to restore Neil Armstrong's space suit. Here's NASA shill and Bad Astronomer Phil Plait to tell you more:
Quote:
The Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum needs your help for a fantastic project. It needs to conserve and preserve one of the greatest icons in American History:
Neil Armstrong’s Apollo spacesuit.
This is the spacesuit he wore when he made that one small step, forever dividing history into two eras: one where humans had not yet set foot on another world, and one where we forevermore became a spacefaring species.

Reboot the Suit: Preserving Neil Armstrong's spacesuit.
It's a Kickstarter campaign, which I guess is weird for a national museum to do, but I was in a charitable mood this morning, so I'm a backer.
