Well yes the implication is there will be a discernible line to stick to. Which would be quite a significant development in itself. "The fence we are sitting on is exactly here."
It remains to be seen ...

Re: Brexit EU referendum polling stations.
The position appears to be a "soft" Brexit.
And they couldn't give a shit about the car they've caught, the only thing they are trying to decide is how to hold onto power. Which is either a fine balancing act, or more likely a complete gamble, between xenophobia and "stronger together", between "something has to change" and the status quo.

Re: Brexit EU referendum polling stations.
There are really only two things that could complete the carnival of chaos: a leadership election in the midst of the negotiations with the EU, or a full fledged general election.

See, Euro-tards, (Remain-tards? whatever the idiot Brexiteer insult of choice is) you said the economy would collapse as soon as the UK voted for Brexit.
That didn't happen! And instead things are going so swimmingly!

I guess Yanis Varoufakis was spot on when he said the EU is like the Hotel California: you can check out any time you like, but you can never leave.

I really disagree. We can leave. But whenever anyone of any sense looks at what leaving would actually imply (hard border with Ireland; economic damage, etc.), they decide leaving would be a stupid idea after all.

If you're claiming that because an idea is agreed to be stupid, a government "cannot" go ahead with it anyway, then you haven't been paying attention.

It's like you're describing the over and over again of human history.

Whitehall’s ‘potty’ plan to keep NI lights on if no Brexit deal | Politics | The Guardian
Quote:
A flotilla of barges would be sent to the coast of Northern Ireland with energy generators after Brexit to keep the region’s lights on in the event of no deal, according to reports on Wednesday.
The scheme, which has been described as “potty” by business leaders in Northern Ireland, is said to be part of contingency planning by Whitehall mandarins in case the UK crashes out of the EU, smashing Ireland’s all-island electricity supply in its wake.
The issue has arisen because Northern Ireland relies on imports from Ireland for electricity supply as part of a ground-breaking single energy market deal struck in the wake of the Good Friday Agreement.
According to a leak to the Financial Times, the plan would involve bringing back equipment from military zones such as Afghanistan to build up capacity in the Irish Sea.
Thousands of electricity generators would have to be requisitioned at short notice.
|
It's an extreme potential outcome but nevertheless they are making contingency plans for it.
