Re: What are you reading?
Wow, another thread that makes me feel illiterate. I think I've responded to two of these in the last few days.
I'm listening to 'Chopping Spree' by Diane Mott Davidson on audiotape. It's a lightweight murder mystery for those of you that don't read fluffy fiction.
And I also started to listen to 'Curse of the Pharaohs' by Elizabeth Peters, another fluffy murder mystery.
And I also listen to 'Bet Me' by Jennifer Crusie while I'm driving in my car.
These are all downloaded audio from my library.

Re: What are you reading?
I'm reading a somewhat sensational but in general pretty good history of Russian Intelligence Services, and on-and-off starting and putting down David Sedaris' Naked when I need a break from the intrigue.

Hey, I got to read one of the Scarpetta books last semester for class. Isn't that great! Medical examiner = public administrator.
I'm going to finish reading a Sand County Almanac.

Re: What are you reading?
I am reading "Memories of Ice", the third book of Steven Erikson's Malazan Book of the Fallen series.
It's a great series. I think there are 7 or 8 books in total (possibly more).

I'm about halfway through Disneywar, which is an interesting look at Michael Eisner's tenure at Disney.

I can relate. I've done a re-read there on occasion, usually just certain parts. It gets pulled of the shelf once and a great while.

The Song of Susannah, 6th book in Stephen King's Dark Tower series. I'm just so relieved he actually finished the damn thing.

I'm not.
Now I have to re-read it all from Book One. I don't even remember where I left off and then he completes the series.
But, I still have McCullough to finish first. I don't want to read both of these lengthy series together. Weird things might happen to me.

Today I finished it. It is amazing how much faster I read when there is work going on around me.
Not sure what will get started next. I may return to the Lord Byron: The Major Works first.

Re: What are you reading?
I am now reading the 3rd Harry Potter book--I've never read any of them before the last week, so I started at the beginning. I like them very much so far, but I can't wait to finish this one so I can start on the 4th because I won't know what's going on in that one since there's no movie! Heehee.

Re: What are you reading?
An order from Barnes & Noble came today with the first two volumes of the Swamp Thing collections. I started on the first one.
Swamp thing
You make the trees sing
You make everything green
Come on, Swamp thing
Swamp thing, I think you slimed me
But I gotta know for sure
Come on and hold me tight
Oh you grow on me
Swamp thing
You make the trees sing
You make everything green
Come on, Swamp thing
Swamp thing, I think I'm dying.
But I gotta know for sure
Come on and squeeze me tight
Oh I'm dead
Swamp thing
You make the trees sing
You make everything green
Come on, Swamp thing

Re: What are you reading?
Right now I have going...
Methuselah's Children by Robert A. Heinlein
Swann's Way (book 1/6) by Marcel Proust
Children of Dune (book 3/6) by Frank Herbert
My goal is to finish Chapterhouse: Dune by the time summer is over. That replaced my earlier goal of finishing Proust's In Search of Lost Time in the same period. The latter goal has been revised to "within the next century", as the old version was simply unreasonably short.
