Let's see, white nationalist shoots up mosque in Canada.
White House springboards off it to talk up muslim travel ban.

Thanks for the veiled threat offer.

Hm, if Canada weren't an independent country, it couldn't keep making America look bad
aha, but if Canada had not let in those Muslim people in the first place, they would not be there to be shot by white nationalists, and a terror attack would have been prevented!
Clear evidence it would have totally worked, and that it is a totally sensible policy.
Now look, guys. We all know it's wrong to discriminate against any particular religion. But the important take away here is that there's nothing wrong with destroying buildings. And, follow me here, if we ban mosques then we don't have to worry about there being any mosque shootings in the future. It's all very simple, really.

The guards, which are contracted by Citywide Protection Services, are supposed to be unarmed. The area where the shooting happened is not part of the association’s property.
Oh, and:

A 60-year-old Virginia man is dead after being shot by a security guard while playing Pokemon Go.
Jiansheng Chen was playing the popular app-based game Thursday evening in a mini-van near the River Walk clubhouse in Chesapeake, when a security guard approached him, WAVY TV reports.
I wonder what brought that on.
Maybe perhaps?

Says here (in Dutch) that the major Dutch bank ABN AMRO is setting conditions for the loan to DAPL. Unless there is a peaceful solution that the Sioux can live with, they will withdraw the loan of $ 45 million to Energy Transfer Equity, the mother company of one of the developers. Okay, here we have a town surrounded from the north by the Turks and their 'rebels', with the Kurds and their US allies nearby, the Syrian regime with Hezbollah and Russian air support coming in from the south in a week-long blitz offensive. And they are all supposedly just there to fight ISIS (except the Syrians on all sides). Interesting times...
A group of US citizens and Palestinian nationals is suing Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and key members of US President Donald Trump’s administration for perpetrating and enabling war crimes.
Their lawsuit, filed in federal court in Washington, DC, on Wednesday, alleges a money laundering scheme that involves the US defendants raising charitable donations to send to Israeli government leaders.
Based on the Anti-Terrorism Act and the Alien Torts Statute, the complaint alleges that the Israeli officials use the money to fund settlements and violent extremism in the occupied West Bank, which the complaint identifies as “international terrorism.”
What with elections coming up in March of course everyone had to weigh in. We have 28 parties competing this time, 11 of which were elected in and at least 2 are split-offs of one of those 11 (and one of them is a split-off of a split-off).
We have at least 5 that I know of that are raving Islamophobes (including Wilders and one of his former side-kicks and a couple that came up through the dungeons of de Telegraaf, the biggest Dutch newspaper that was pro-nazi during the war and has consistently stayed that way ever since, even when they couldn't get away with the crap they did during the war and now get away with again as long as it is about Muslims, not Jews).
Oh, now that I think of it, there's an old school Christian party that collaborated with the nazis and now wants to ride the Islamophobia train too.
One of the splitters, the one that split itself, consists of two Turkish Labour members who started a movement called DENK (THINK) and were joined by a Surinamese tv-presenter who left them to start her own party (Artikel 1, named after the article in the constitution that bans discrimination) a couple of months later with elections in sight. It seems the polls have her new party not getting any seats though, while DENK is likely to get the majority of the Turkish and Moroccan voters (who used to vote for Labour). And probably my vote as well, sick of the old crap, in with the new. About time they have their own power base instead of being the house negroes in other parties. Also the only party I like on Palestine (could still be better but way better than the others).
