I don't get what was wrong with the sink in the first one before the repair. It's still hilarious, though. Like a Rube Goldberg sink.

I think there was no hot water, so the electric tea kettle heated it

Notice the scrubby and dishwashing soap. Now that's dedication to kitchen hygiene right there.

Love that duct tape picture! I didn't know Red Green was now working for Air Canada.

I printed out the airline deferred maintenance photo (duct-tape!) and am circulating it through the professional staff with this note:

"On your flight to the conference this year, I hope you don't look out your window seat window and see this."

I'm thinking of doing another that has "DEFERRED MAINTENANCE EPITOMIZED".

Yeah, the boulder house is pretty cool, though the 'wall installation' could use a bit of work. The schoolbus is cool in a post apocalyptic sort of way.

:giggle: Srsly tho, dwellings built below ground level -- or in this case jammed into ground level -- maintain a level temperature without artificial climate control.

I am under the impression that it takes a bit more than that to really maintain a level temperature. I assume the bus is easier to heat/cool than it would be up in the air, but it probably still has temperature issues. The boulder house might be a bit better in that respect. Hard to say.

Well, obviously the bus isn't really underground so it's not likely to garner the full benefits of subterranean dwellings. My parents' root cellar, otoh, is a constant 65:degrees: year round.

I actually have a pic I can submit

It's the cutlery rack in my dishwasher, it is falling apart at the bottom and knives keep falling through, so I wrapped/threaded wire all through the bottom to keep that from happening.

I was the 13th owner of my house in Vegas, and the toilet wouldn't flush, so I opened the tank to find they had replaced the arm part of the cock and ball assembly with a coat hanger, custom bent to the right shape. It had rusted and broke in half.

A new arm is like 2.00

Correction: $2 and a trip to the hardware store.

In my house in Denver, someone had gotten one of those molded plastic shower enclosures and just nailed it into the wall, right over the window and everything.

Also, there were outdoor door knobs, with key locks, on the bathroom and one of the bedrooms, and they both locked from outside the rooms. I don't know if that was just incompetent or creepy, though.
