The mark of excellence in a steak house is a dining room featuring a mechanical bull.

A Greekish chopped salad with fresh bread.

But Matlock's still not home, and I warned him, so he might get a rotisserie chicken too.

Pizza from Pizza Hut. It's gone already, so none left for Supperbowl time. Too bad, so sad.

Chicken tikka masala that we were too lazy to make the other night. The sauce is from a jar, and it's pretty good.

We had homemade chicken tikka masala last night.

It's better than sauce from a jar, but it's a lot more effort. I think a good compromise is to make the yogurt marinade and marinate the chicken overnight, then add the remaining marinade to the store-bought sauce the next day. More tender chicken and improved flavor for the sauce, but medium amount of work.

Homemade with sauce from a jar still feels like proper cooking compared to my default frozen chicken tikka masala, even including the rice.

And those paste jars are pretty good. I'm currently favouring Patak madras paste.

We use the Patak sauces too - they're quite good.

We're doing chili tonight. It's a good snowy night for chili.

I've been eating this "riced cauliflower" stuff. It looks like rice, it tastes like rice, it has the texture of rice in mah mouth.

So I can literally fill a plate and throw some stir fry on top and I feel like I'm have a load of carbs - but there aren't any - and so low cal too. My brain is fooled and I feel satisfied.
