Re: Good King Trump
So...Has Donny Dump been doing all the BlueDog Bill hotspots in the Western Wing? The intern's lounge must be veritably purring with potential trophy wives. I assume he has decided on a cat (rather than a dog, like the Obamas) so that he can perpetually wander the White House seeking to find and grasp any feline, as is his wont.
Has anybody sent Donny Dump a box of BlueDog Bill's favorite cigars?

Re: Good King Trump
Also, it's simply not true that "anyone, even with bad intentions" can come into the country. We have one of the most extensive vetting processes in the world for refugees. Far more extensive than simply saying "no one from X country can come into the country". Manhattan Mugabe doesn't realise this, of course, because he is a moron. Or else he's just lying.

I'm really looking forward to seeing how Trump voters react to his promised rollbacks of Dodd Frank. Trump's base includes of a lot of the kind of people who need the most protection from that sort of thing, and if Trump gets his way, they are fuuuuuucked.

The problem is that people don't understand what it does.
And the thing about fiduciary duties... Well, they wouldn't be getting ripped off so much if they understood they were getting ripped off.
It makes there be consequences for getting caught not putting your client's interests first. But they didn't have much chance of getting caught anyway. The banks will suck more money from them and they will blame immigrants for their economic situation.

Re: Good King Trump
Via LGM, Howard Stern has commented on Cheeto Caligula's presidency. While it's possible that Stern is being somewhat tongue-in-cheek with some of his commentary, there are likely very few people on the planet who understand Manhattan Mugabe better than Stern does, and I suspect a lot of his analysis is spot-on.
Quote:
“I personally wish that he had never run, I told him that, because I actually think this is something that is gonna be detrimental to his mental health too, because, he wants to be liked, he wants to be loved,” Stern said. “He wants people to cheer for him.”
“I don’t think it’s going to be a healthy experience. And by the way, he’s now on this anti-Hollywood kick. He loves Hollywood. First of all, he loves the press. He lives for it. He loves people in Hollywood. He only wants hobnob with them. All of this hatred and stuff directed towards him. It’s not good for him. It’s not good. There’s a reason every president who leaves the office has grey hair.”
...
Stern said he considers Trump a friend, but is opposed to his politics.
“I like Donald very much personally. I was shocked when he decided to run for president, and even more shocked that sort of, people took it seriously,” Stern said.
“I remember saying to him when he announced his presidency, I remember being quite amazed, because I remember him being for Hillary Clinton,” Stern added.
“And I remember him being very–I mean he was pro-abortion. So the new Donald Trump kind of surprised me.”
Stern said he doesn’t believe Trump has had a change of heart on issues like abortion, but is instead playing to his base.
The radio host said he also believed Trump ran for president solely to get a larger contract from NBC for “The Apprentice.”
“I think it started out as like a kinda cool, fun thing to do in order to get a couple more bucks out of NBC for The Apprentice, I actually do believe that,” Stern said.
“He just wanted a couple more bucks out of NBC, and that is why Donald is calling for voter fraud investigations. He’s pissed he won. He still wants Hillary Clinton to win. He’s so f—ing pissed, he’s hoping that he can find some voter fraud and hand it over to Hillary.”
|
I'm not sure how accurate all of this is, but the idea that Kim Jong Orange's campaign was a publicity stunt that spun out of control seems like the most accurate explanation for it. I also wouldn't be entirely surprised if Idiot Amin really had wanted Clinton to win all along.

Re: Good King Trump
I absolutely believe he never wanted to win, just wanted to get the publicity, but I don't buy for a second that he's looking for a way to hand it back to Hillary. He's crying voter fraud because, whether he really wanted it or not, there's no way his ego will let him accept he lost the popular vote, any more that it will let him accept the actual size of his inaugural crowd.

Re: Good King Trump
The most plausible explanation I've seen is that he wanted to be elected president; he just didn't actually want to be president. He thought of the presidency as a prize with parades and such, not as something you actually do. That sounds about right.

Re: Good King Trump
Regardless of his pre-election motivation, I think it's pretty clear he intends to hang onto it now, and will do so as long as he can continue not only to increase his holdings directly, but also help his allies build theirs. This will continue until he's forced out, which is looking less and less likely to happen. It will apparently take exposing a truly monumental crime, one he's not already doing in the open and bragging about, before that happens.
