So weird. I'm thinking on the one hand USA is cool because you can just go whatever university or job you can get into (by way of volunteer work, essay-writing, apprenticeship, whateves) without having to adhere to some national test-taking standard. But on the other hand, that's how illiterate people like GWB are Yale graduates. So it's kind of win-lose depending on how much money you have or who your connections are. Just like everything else.

I suppose SA has the best of both: a standardised national exam, but the option to bribe or otherwise influencer the examiners.
