I'd have gotten SC2 but when I heard they'd taken out the LAN play function I canceled my pre-order.

Re: Video Games - Watcha playin'?
I've been playing Sacred II - Fallen Angel for a couple weeks but I don't know why.
I bought Lara Croft - Guardian of Light yesterday and it's a lot more fun.

Re: Video Games - Watcha playin'?
I'm replaying Dragon Age: Origins. Jesus fuck, this game is easy, even on Nightmare, when you have some DLC, and the awesome items that come with it. I'm not even running with a mage in my party, and I'm tearing through just about everything with no difficulty. My one weakness is groups with more than one caster, since I don't have a readily available way to disable multiple enemies at range.

Re: Video Games - Watcha playin'?
Mass Effect 2 just came out with a new DLC package (Lair of the Shadow Broker), and I think it's the biggest one yet. Fucking download was over a gig and a half. Looking forward to playing this.

You should get Civ V and then tell me whether it's worth getting.

Re: Video Games - Watcha playin'?
If I had to choose, I'd probably do Civ V.
Reasons:
* Blizzard's Real ID crap apparently makes SC II much less friendly to online play than it used to be.
* Speaking of which, no LAN play anymore.
* Civ V can be gotten through Steam, which at least mitigates the DRM crap to a merely obnoxious threat to steal your game if they ever get sick of letting you have it, without the rootkits and such.

Re: Video Games - Watcha playin'?
I love roller coasters, but, unfortunately, I can no longer ride them. In the last 10 years I've seem to have developed chronic motion sickness when on thrill rides. Even more unfortunate is the motion sickness I get when playing 1st person shooters. I cannot play them without breaking out in a sweat and usually suffer serious dizziness. Obviously, this limits the types of games I can play.
Outside of the typical Match 3, Card, and Hidden Object games I play, the last really fun game was Machinarium. I would love to find another game that was similar to it. I played Alchemia, but found it to be just so-so. Any suggestions?

Re: Video Games - Watcha playin'?
I had time to play one game of Civ V before my vacation. It has a couple of pretty glaring problems (diplomacy is weirdly opaque, especially after how transparent it was in Civ IV, and the AI doesn't always seem to have a firm grasp on the new combat mechanics), but is composed of like 90% pure win.
Having played both, I'd do Civ V over Starcraft 2, but I guess it really depends on whether or not the particular itch you want scratched is TBS or RTS. They're both highly polished entries in their particular genres.

Old PC doesn't meet specs. Poor student shouldn't spend limited funds on upgrading.
Could probably stretch to replace the malfunctioning DVD drive so I can at least play some Civ IV in compensation.

Re: Video Games - Watcha playin'?
I haven't actually played anything in the last three weeks or so, but I read that the demo for The Force Unleashed 2 was pretty cool, so I turned on my 360 in the hopes of trying it out last night.
The : RROD
The : It's still under warranty! Shipping it out this afternoon for repairs.

Ours too.
I'm only an hour into it, but I'm digging it so far. More of what I loved in Fallout 3.

Re: Video Games - Watcha playin'?
I was unaware that the game could be played in one-hour increments. Maybe our game has a bug, because I am pretty sure that it has not been played in less than three hour increments. EVER.
I just watch, btw, I am too impatient to play. And say, "Look over there, I see some caps."

Re: Video Games - Watcha playin'?
Enjoying New Vegas as well.
Some problems though, not sure if it is just the xbox version or if my xbox is having issues but the game crashes and/or hard locks the console quite often. Three times this morning in fact.
ETA: Problematic item found when the XBox went tits up the next time I powered it on.
