This is the beginnings of my first project for my image processing class. I don't really like making GUIs, but I love image processing so I am having a blast with it in spite of myself. (It's in Java ... )
I was scratching around on one end of the house collecting rocks to cover a bank and keep the weeds down a bit. There was a bit of a large rock poking out of the ground and I feel that if a rock is peeking out like that it wants to come out in the sunlight. So I dug around till I could get a chain around it and then hooked to my pickup truck and pulled it out. I'd estimate it about 300 lbs. and I decided I wasn't going to move it by hand. I've heard a lot of macho guys say the word can't isn't in their vocabulary, and I will tell you they don't know what they are talking about. I needed to move the rock out of the way so I got my 5' Cant hook and made short work of moving the rock about 8 feet and out of the way for now. My son got it for me for my birthday, and I say it's one of the nicest birthday presents I ever got.

I've been working on an HO scale train for my grandson. 2 Santa Fe diesel F-7's, one powered, one dummy, and 5 passenger cars including 2 dome cars. I hope he likes it.

The track is laid on 1" x 12" and 1" x 8" boards all around the outside walls of the room. I had a train running, Life Like Alco F-1's an A-B-A set, pulling 37 - 3 and 4 bay hoppers all weighted. It took the train 2 minutes to make one trip around at full power. The shelf is 34" off the floor, pine boards on metal shelf brackets. Part of it will be the permanent layout, other parts will be replaced.

I had been flailing about trying to get a place to put my phone when it's plugged in for charging and or playing podcasts through my computer. I only sort of looked online for a product that was specifically made for just such a thing but they were all expensive, and if not necessarily expensive they weren't made to work with my phone. Then I did some experimenting with building my own thingy. I was then poking about at the office supply store and something so simple presented itself at me.
That's a simple business card holder. I glued some grippy stuff to it, not because it really needed it but just for in case. On the back side I have some small binder clips to act as guides for the charge and audio cable. The phone can sit horizontally or vertically with no problems. I can manipulate the phone if I need to. Best of all these things, it was p cheap to accomplish. The cloth is just for contrast. There is a lot of black over there and a picture may not have come out with detail.
