I especially liked that he admitted the meeting was in fact to try and get dirt on Clinton but they didn't get that dirt so it shouldn't count. Yes your honor my client did try to arrange a murder with the mob but it turns out the person he met was in charge of other activities and so was unable to commit the murder. Since no murder occurred it's clear that my client is innocent, it's not illegal to fail at murder is it?

That is true, but Facebook is at least in part responsible for spreading those ideas in the first place. A lot of those people are just kind of ignorant and in over their heads, and were manipulated by literally false information being spread on (and I'd argue, by) Facebook.
For all the issues with regular news media, they weren't regularly promoting the type of outright lies and hate speech that is promoted on Facebook all the time. So if you're generally ignorant and maybe marginally literate, the media provided at least some minimal accuracy filter. You'd see bad information, and biased information, but you didn't see InfoWars unless you went looking for it. And Facebook not only provided a platform for the agitators, but they even provided them with tools to profile and target the most gullible users.

Quitting Farcebook still isn't helpful (unless enough billions of people do that they actually suffer loss of ad revenue, which if that's the plan good luck) ... what's needed is a way to block ignorant friends and family members from seeing anything manipulative (as defined by you the right-thinking individual, of course).
In effect, smart people should be mods on F******k. Sounds good to me.
I nominate Martin Scorsese to direct the Donald Trump biopic. His body of work - Goodfellas, Gangs of New York, etc - suggests he has done a great job bringing similar characters to life on film.
Cue millions of Trumplickers changing their flags to match and denigrating (that feels like the right word) the Libruhls who control flag production and have deliberately got it wrong since forever.
This seems like such an obvious insight I'm wondering why I didn't think of it before. Although related things have been posted here, like observing that Trumpists feel threatened.
Trump isn't "corrupt", he's literally fighting against corruption ... where they define corruption as corruption of their pure America by black and brown people. And feminists and gays. And he really is draining the swamp ... of the same pernicious influences.
